I always amaze myself at how busy I can be not working! Yesterday I was in my church’s kitchen getting things ready for an Antique show they host every year. Sundays I’ll be there again as well as next Tuesday thru Thursday and Friday to Sundday I work various shifts to help serve and such! I was laid off at the right time when all this was happening–gets me out of the house and doing things I thoroughly enjoy!
I’m working on my medical coverage–can’t afford Cobra–called my dentist’s office and the receptionist was kind enough to give me the name and number of a plan they’re accepting ‘new’ patients under and it’ll only cost me about $83 a year! Exams and x-rays are no cost and I pay $20 co-pay for cleaning and $33 for filings. So my mouth will stay healthy. Hope my eye doctor can do the same.
It’ll be a slow process and not everything will go smoothly, but little by little, I’m re-claiming my life back. Such a relief to get out from under such a negative environment–I’m sure some of you know what I’m talking about! And this forum—what a wonderful place to be! I was chatting with a forum member last night on FB and we both agreed what a tight knit place this is–the support and encouragement we give each other! There is no other place like it!!!!
So kudos to everyone here–you’re great and so now give yourselves a big pat on the back! Then go eat some ice cream! 😀
January 27, 2010 at 6:51 pm #804214I’m so glad that at least your dentist has helped you out. That’s pretty affordable!
January 27, 2010 at 10:49 pm #804215You must have a very very nice dentist
January 28, 2010 at 12:31 am #804216It’s good that things are working out better.
January 28, 2010 at 3:50 am #804217I’m so glad to hear you were able to get on that plan! Hoping the same for your eye doctor as well. 🙂 I definitely agree and understand about getting away from such a negative environment! *Hugs tight* I’m glad you don’t have to deal with that place anymore.

January 31, 2010 at 7:35 pm #804219Wow, that’s pretty darned reasonable! Glad to hear they’re willing to work with you. I think you’ll likely find the same with your other healthcare providers–there’s a LOT of folks in the same boat, so it probably won’t be as hard to find deals as you’ve thought. 😉 Here’s to thinking positive thoughts for you from NJ! 😀
February 1, 2010 at 2:12 am #804220$83 a year – I’d say that’s pretty reasonable. Much more then the plan I have, which is $47… per month. :puke: And doesn’t cover all of what you have for dental (but also includes some eye, prescription and medical).
And I’m glad you’re away from that negative environment. Been there done that (academically, not work, though I won’t get into it) and I know the feeling of starting over you get when you’re finally out!
