I’ve had incredibly detailed dreams since I was very young, and every once in a while I have one that just blows me away it’s so detailed and beautiful. I would like to share the dream I had last night. 🙂
I was standing in the middle of this old cabin. There was no glass in the windows, and the roof had several holes with a faint light pouring in. As I stood there, a little white butterfly flew in through one of the windows. I held out my hand as it fluttered toward me and landed on my palm. Curious, I stared at him for a while, watching his wings flex up & down. Soon he took flight again, moving towards the front door. I began to follow him, and when I stepped outside there were more white butterflies. They all seemed to be flying in the same direction, so I walked along with them. The sky was grey with fast moving clouds, and the breeze was a little chilly.
I walked for what seemed a very long time, over dark grassy hills. Mountains were in the distance and became larger with every step I took. Before I knew it, I was on the foothills of these mountains, and they were absolutely breathtaking. By now there were hundreds of white butterflies, all around me. The sun broke through the clouds, lighting up the gorgeous hills of bright green grass and surrounding mountains. As I stood there taking it all in, thousands of beautiful pink Magnolia blossoms began to float down from the sky like snow. They were the most spectacular blossoms I had ever seen. I looked up with a huge smile on my face and closed my eyes, feeling the warmth of the sun and the soft touch of the petals brushing against my face as they descended to the ground. The last thing I remember was reaching out, capturing a huge blossom in my hands, and putting it up to my face, feeling its softness and inhaling deeply. It was the most glorious scent I had ever experienced. Just before waking up, I noticed the little white butterflies were still fluttering about. 🙂
January 22, 2010 at 8:56 am #803700wow some dream. I would have liked to be there for real. 🙂
It’s amazing how sometimes the feel like they actualy hapenned, so detailed they are. :yes:January 22, 2010 at 2:31 pm #803701😮 wow… what a beautiful dream. that sounds amazing. i’ve always had very vivid dreams too. unfortunately its very rare that they are “good” dreams. usually some sort of catastrophe. 😕 i dunno…
January 22, 2010 at 4:11 pm #803702Ooooo–what a painting that would make! 😀
January 23, 2010 at 6:10 am #803703That sounds so lovely! I wish my dreams were vivid, but most of my dreams are experienced through a fog. Most of the time, I don’t even remember my dreams. Thank you for sharing!!
January 23, 2010 at 6:26 am #803704that is really awesome.
I love dreams, the short wierd ones and the long ‘adventure’ dreams……
My dragon Flare came from a dream, and I have been her in a few dreams…including one detailed on that would leave a few people pissing thier pants I am sure.in short, stuck in an out post City on an alien planet, with three unknown native critters ransacking the city.
I had another one that was less detailed just this week of two giant dragons in a forbidden forest battling it out.
January 23, 2010 at 5:23 pm #803705I find it so amazing that artists have these wonderful dreams that gives them inspirations to do certain artwork! I remember years ago I had a dream of being in a forest and I came upon a little area of lush green–vibrant green–area with little creatures that were here and there. It was like I was in a dark forest coming upon this little lush area of peace. I felt peaceful and like a blanket was over me. I enjoyed that dream!
Some time later my husband and I were in a store and came across a painting that reminded me of that dream. Now my husband was pretty much traditional but he liked this painting as well! There was a green forest scene and along the edges–it was in a circle, it was black–like you were looking in on this little scene. My husband even made the comment that it looks like you’re coming into a dream! But alas he didn’t feel it would match anything we had at the time.
MGutz, I would paint that dream! It sounds so incredible! And…you had that dream for a reason! 😀
January 24, 2010 at 7:49 am #803706My dreams usually end up being something weird… like the time that I woke up like 5 times before waking up for real.
I woke up, showered, went back to the bedroom to get dressed and realized…. my computer was not that nice. And I woke up.
I showered, dressed, went to the kitchen, and realized that the microwave was in the wrong place. And I woke up.
I showered, dressed, ate breakfast, went up to go outside, realized that the door looked wrong. And I woke up.
I showered, dressed, ate breakfast, went outside, and realized that the house was the wrong color. And I woke up.
I showered, dressed, ate breakfast, went outside, started walking to the bus stop, and realized that it was the wrong season…. then I REALLY woke up.
I spent the rest of the day wondering if I was still dreaming or if I was actually awake….. 😈
January 25, 2010 at 11:15 pm #803707What a wonderful dream. I usually have 2-4 dreams a night. They are really random and seem to have nothing to do with each other. There is always so much activity going in my dreams that I have a really hard time remembering them all. I very rarely have a calm dream like that.
January 26, 2010 at 6:26 am #803708Very cool stories everyone, thanks for sharing your dreams as well! 🙂
I’m the same way with some of mine MB, sometimes there is so much going on in the dream that it ends up feeling a bit blurry to me. O_o
January 30, 2010 at 7:06 am #803709I had another great dream last night, but this one was really funny! 😀
I was about to enter this cool contest where you had a chance to meet Trent Reznor. This is how the contest worked. First, you had to find one of several specially marked bottles of Coke Zero in order to even enter the contest. Once found, you then had to make your own video representation of one of NIN’s songs. (LOL, nuff said!) Once you met both of those requirements, you then had to send both items to the appropriate address. One winner would receive an all expense paid trip to meet Trent Reznor in person.
Scott and I were in a random grocery store standing at this Coke machine. Somehow we knew if we put in enough money, the 5th bottle that came out would be the right one. Each one cost $1.15, but it just so happened we only had exactly $4.60. 😆 I was like “Omg Scott, we don’t have enough for the 5th bottle, and I just know that’s going to be the one!” Scott was freaking out and said “Just wait here, I’ll go get some change!” It seemed like I was waiting forever! These people kept coming up wanting to get Cokes and I was like “No way, you’ll have to go to the next machine” LOL! It seemed like hours before Scott returned. He put the money in the machine, and cha-CHING we got the specially marked bottle! 😀
We went straight home to start making the video, when suddenly I looked down at the bottle and read that the close off date was January 31st! I was like “Scott, we only have a few days left to get this thing turned in! How will we ever get done in time?” Next thing I know, everything fades into another scene and I end up in this weird looking home office, with dark lighting, a bunch of book shelves and the back of a big brown leather office chair. I could see the back of this guy’s head as he was sitting there. Then he said, “So, I see you found one of the specially marked Coke bottles.” I was like, “Yeah I did.” He said, “You do know that I get half the winnings from who ever wins this contest, right? I’m a paraplegic and I intend on using my half to help take care of my medical expenses.” And I was very puzzled and said, “Sir, the prize is to meet Trent Reznor in person.” He paused and said “Oh.”
After that I woke up. 😀
January 30, 2010 at 6:08 pm #803710😆 Now that was weird–like the guy at the end thought you’d be getting money–so sir, how do you split a visit with this Trent person? Gotta love dream sometime–espeically when they make no sense at all. I can just see the scene of you shooing people away from that coke machine!!! XD
January 30, 2010 at 8:41 pm #803711😆 😆 hahaha.. how strange!
January 31, 2010 at 4:00 am #803712I’ve had dreams like that! ROFL, that is funny.
I posted one of the dreams I had in full detail in my LJ(also, mgutz, look in a prior lj post for something something)
When I finished writing it today, it was rather long..too much for a post here. I think the dream took up a full 10 minutes! -
