I have to ask…how long do you respectfully wait to recieve an item before you start to complain because it has not been shipped to you?

I give them a couple weeks, especially this time of year when the mail system is overloaded. 🙂 Hope the situation works out for you!
December 29, 2009 at 3:51 pm #798271Depends on how far it has to go. Since I’m in Canada, I give purchases one month from the day I pay. That is the longest it should take, even if my parcel gets stopped at the border.
December 29, 2009 at 4:03 pm #798272It depends on who I am buying from and what their terms are.
Someone I know I will give quite a while.. odds are I talk to them somewhat regularly anyhow. 🙂
An individual I do not know, or an online shop, or eBay… that’s different. I will look at their shipping terms. For example, I will make a greater allowance for someone that up front says that they can only get to the post office once a week. However there have been times when I have paid extra for faster shipping, or part of the selling point was ‘we ship within 24 hours’, etc. So it depends greatly on the terms of the sale and shipping terms. If no specific shipping times are listed, I think it is reasonable to expect that the item be shipped within 2 weeks. Beyond that is ridiculous in most cases (again circumstance comes into play), and after two weeks I will contact the seller(s) and politely request an update.
After 3 or 4 weeks if I don’t get a reasonable answer I will then put a claim out on Paypal or my credit card, whichever I used.International packages are different in nature and I allow much greater time to pass for them.

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.December 29, 2009 at 9:07 pm #798274Has the person been in contact with you about shipping recently? My friends will tell you that I do miss shipping deadlines, but I’m always apologetic and upfront about the delay. I extend the same courtesy to people that are shipping to me. I do appreciate an email about a delay….just lmk what’s going on is what I’m trying to say. 😈 😀
December 29, 2009 at 9:30 pm #798275I am a slow shipper. Mostly because I have one day a week where I have time to get to PO, and if I have to work then I have to wait. It’s a pain, but I always stay in touch with recipient. So i supposae it depends on who it is, and hoe long they said it would be to get it in the mail. 😕

Sun Dragon Koi #3December 29, 2009 at 10:56 pm #798276If its someone here, I usually would not complain till after a couple weeks. Esp this time of year since the lines at the PO are so long. Thats as long as they kept me updated. If they tried to ignore me, I would hassle them every other day. 😀
December 30, 2009 at 3:12 am #798277I’m still embarrassed about that retarded money order too. 😳 🙄
Yeah, I’d give a couple weeks, from last contact and if nothing, then bug the snot out of them…Unless like Ski said they atleast keep in touch. But, then again, the once I had to deal with something like you are (With a forum member who has been MIA for a bit now), I waited 3 weeks, got a story…Waited another…Got a story. But then again, they waited for payment so I fugred turn around was fair play to make me wait an extra week or so. In the end, I got my piece and didn’t have to take a road trip to go physically get it. By the time I got it, I was leveling off a pretty good head of steam, but, once here, there was no hard feelings about it. It is mint and with box as described. I bought a whole bunch of books off ebay one time. I sent payment out for 4 or 5 different auctions at once (still in the MO days before paypal only) and one I never got. I sent the guy an email, and never heard back. I lost a whopping $8.50, so I counted it as lost. I give bigger tips than that when I eat out. LOL
I would atleast say something to them perhaps twice this week (3 days or so apart) then go to the every other if they don’t reply. 😉December 30, 2009 at 5:58 am #798278For a moment there I thought you might have bought a small dragon from me off E-Bay! Shipped three weeks ago and still haven’t arrived; same thing with a big OW with a tracking number that was shipped 6 weeks ago. I can ship anywhere else in the world and the packages arrived on time and all right, but the USPS is really starting to make me nervous.
I hop you get your item, Bodine.December 30, 2009 at 2:46 pm #798279Thanks guys.I am patient but we all love our Windstones and want them home.I know things areslowed down and I respect the fact that things do happen but…..
