      OKay so before you read, this is a RANT!!

      I’m SO PISSED OFF! It’s something stupid, but it just went right up my behind sideways!!!!

      Okay so I’m working SUPER hard on a costume for the convention I go to each year. Thsi year I am doing Kyuubi, the 9 tailed fox from Naruto. So anyway, I have been looking for fur ALL over the internet and being super picky because I want this to be my best costume yet! I outsorced the head from an expert, but I’m making the rest of of it. Body, hands, feet, tails, claws, etc and so forth.

      So I FINALLY find the PERFECT FUR!

      So I’m in LOVE with it right! So I have to email them to place an order, cool! So there’s a number to call, I call and get the answering machine. (not surprising, it was around 7-8 at night so I’m guessing they’re closed) So I emailed asking if they had enough for what I needed (between 10-15 yards) and if so I would like to place an order. I got an email back almost immediately saying they “don’t have much left and won’t be taking any new orders until after X-mas. Mark”

      Okay, so I email back saying “Oh no! Do you happen to know how much you have left on hand, maybe I can make do if it’s close to what I need.” I get an email back saying “please reread your first email”

      So now I’m thinking, okay, they must have listed the amount and I missed it like an idiot right? Stupid me as usual? I re read it…… okay…. I didn’t miss anything so I’m a little confused. I email back saying “I’m sorry, but I must have missed where you mentioned how much you had left, I understand you’re not taking any orders until after X-mas, that’s fine. By not much left do you mean 1 or 2 yards, or 6 or 7 yards? I’m confused. I have no problem waiting until after X-mas to place the order, or do you know when you may be getting more in?”

      SO THEN! I get the NASTIEST EMAIL EVER!

      “Look! I don’t know who you think you are but I just can’t drop everything to go and measure some fur for you! Do you realize it’s the Friday before Christmas and it’s 8 PM! You should try and be more patient because I’m sure as hell not getting this done tonight! I know we have a bolt left but I don’t know how much is on it so if you can’t wait then too bad!”

      WTF!!! I was SO MAD!!! I wrote back

      “WOW! I realize it’s the Christmas season, I myself work in retail and snapping at me like that was REALLY UNNECESSARY and very unprofessional. I was just asking a question. I didn’t know you had to go measure it by hand, how am I supposed to know how your establishement works? In any case, instead of sending me an email saying to “reread the first email” as if I’m an idiot you could have just said “I’m sorry, I can’t measure it right now but I can let you know after X-mas” or SOMETHING to that effect. I can’t place the order until after Christmas anyway right? There was no need to be a complete JERK!”

      So then he writes back “and a very merry christmas to you too!”

      WHAT A JERK!!!!! GAH!!!!! *screams/insert curse words* I wanted that fur so bad too and now I can’t even wait for them to get more in stock I’m so pissed I don’t even want to order from that jerk! I REALLY want to write back that he should be grateful to be even getting business with an attitude like that but I just dropped it and I don’t even want to write back again. I’m just SO PISSED OFF!

      SO yeah… if anyone has any free time to google to look for a fur just like this one feel free. I have been looking for HOURS! I can’t find anything even close! Not in this country anyway *cries* I wanted a 2″ fur in a burnt orange color, but I don’t like ANYTHING as much as I liked this one. I loved the little black hairs that made if look like a “realistic fantasy” color. *sigh* I’m SO DISSAPPOINTED!

      DAMMIT! This just RUINED MY DAY! I’m so mad now…. it’s like one of those customers that have an attitude with you for NO REASON and complain to your manager when you didn’t do ANYTHING wrong but try to help them. That just how I feel.

      DUDE! Like this lady who RIPPED MY HEAD off over the phone the other day too about her appliance order. I got yelled at about what what a bunch of idiots we have working here for about 20 minutes before she mentioned the name “Lowes” …. yeah…… I was like “Um ma’am….. this is Home Depot…..not Lowes” She didn’t even apoogize… she was just like *long pause* “Oh…. it is?” *click*

      GAH! RAWWWR! 🙄 🙄 🙄

        I don’t care if that fur is the most perfect thing on the planet, after that treatment he wouldn’t get a PENNY from me, let alone $22/yard. 👿 👿 You have every right to rant!

        I wouldn’t even know how to start looking, but I hope you can find something somewhere–I mean, Mr Jerk there has to buy it from someone, I’m assuming. 🙁

          Yea, that’s what I thought but I can’t even find anything remotely close. There was one place that *made* fur custom for designers or something along those lines, but it’s like $80 a yard! *choke gasp*

          You should write that email telling him that he is lucky to get any business from anyone with that attitude, and then tell him that he has lost a valuable customer in you, due to the fact that you create costumes on a regular basis, and would have easily gotten hundreds out of you-but not now. And then tell him to think about that the next time he wants to be such a jerk with a new customer.
          You should add that you asked him what the measurement was through an email—and it wasn’t a phone call—so if he didn’t want you to email him at 8pm, he should specify right next to the email address that he provided. It’s not like you asked him to do it right that moment! 👿 👿
          I hate how people treat each other, especially during the holidays! I try to see the best in people before I assume the worst, and so then I try to treat others courteously, but when others treat people like that man treated you-it makes my blood boil!!

            I don’t understand how people think they can run a successful business, treating potential customers that way. I wonder if he is a worker or one of the owners? Perhaps you should try to find out. 😉

              I thought about that, I know his name was Mark, but I don’t know if he’s the boxx or what. I certainly hope he’s not customer service!

              Anyway, that’s a good point that I would have been a good customer. Of that there is no doubt. It’s definately the season, but still. I’m still pissed. I’m debating on calling, but I’m not sure.

                omg… what a jerk! 😡

                This would be a really tough decision for me… Do you bite the bullet and get the fur you really, REALLY want? But by doing so you are basically telling them that’s it’s OK to be rude and have piss-poor customer service. :negative:

                I don’t think I could give them a cent. Maybe you’ll get an apology e-mail (yeah, I know, that’s a long shot).

                  Well, I think I might give it another try after the new year when they are open again. Someone who buys from them told me that that guy is always a jerk and to call and talk to the lady at the front desk. They said she’s really nice. 😕

                    In this economy, I’m surprised any business would tolerate an employee who is rude to customers. Even if that is the most perfect fur in the world for you–to buy it from that jerk, bayoudragon is right, will you be sending the message that it is okay to be rude to customers? I think not! All you did was make a simple inquiry and yes, he could have responded and say that he didn’t have time to go back and measure and would after the holidays. If you wanted to accept that–fine–but he came down on you like a hammer!

                    It would be interesting to talk to the lady at the front desk–is she his boss? God help you if that jerk owns the place! I know what you mean–you’re weren’t trying to be a pain but he treated you like one. Like the stupid woman who was yelling at you and it wasn’t even your company she was mad at! Stupid B*t*h! I once had a woman get upset with me because another contractor didn’t answer their phone but had an answering machine! She demanded why no one was answering the phone! [Like it was my problem.] I’m the wrong one to do this too–I simply said that they probably didn’t want to pay someone to answer it! [We couldn’t help her anyway–we only do commercial not residential.]

                    I’m hoping you can find this fur elsewhere and not give business to that arrogant jerk! Guess he thinks he has the market on fur all tied up–[insert any cuss words you want here] 😡 👿

                    EDIT: Just for the heck of it I went to that website and checked out the ‘About Us’ and ‘Contact Us’ stuff. It almost sounds like they’re there to help you, the individual, with your project and will do what they can to accommodate you! Boy what you see and what you get are definitely 2 different things.

                      Wow… How very rude of him. He could have gone and measured it and gotten back to you in a few days (or said so), rather than just assume that you were expecting to have it measured immediately. In all honesty, you could have been someone emailing from half way around the world, or even on the West coast at that hour making an inquiry. After that treatment though, I don’t think I’d be looking to order from him if you can call and work with the lady at the front desk, but it definitely doesn’t hurt to shop around just in case.

                      Something one of the team leaders here at work has said that I have found myself quoting more and more lately, because it is so true: “Common sense is not all that common.”

                      I’ll keep an eye out for similar fabric (since I know you are trying to do the Kyuubi). If I get a chance to head to the city or have a friend of mine check for me (there are some fantastic fabric places down there… I know of a few off the top of my head that I’ve enjoyed going to), I will let you know if I find anything in that amount (or if they can order that much).

                        You may very well want to call and talk to the lady at the front desk. Our organization had a training on customer service, and the statistics are kind of shocking. Around 90% won’t do business with that company again, but only about 5% of the customers actually complain to the establishment when they are dissatisfied. You may want to call the lady and let her know how you were treated. They may be looking for an excuse to fire him… LOL. 👿 Then again, he may very well be the owner (that would TRULY suck).

                        In the meantime, I would just keep looking. You may find something and not have to wait until the new year. Good luck, either way. I AM DYING to see this when you are finished! :shout:

                          I whole heartedly agree with all of you, but *whines* I REALLY want this fur. Yea! I laughed when I read through the page and they went on and on in MULTIPLE paragraphs about how they’r ehere to help with my project needs whatever they may be… they have A LOT of fine print, but nothing I wasn’t willing to work with. *sigh* Anyway… I guess I’ll have to call the front desk at the end of they year. I keep getting an answering machine saying they are not taking new orders until the 1st so I suppose I have about a week to cool off and for that guy to forget about me.

                          Thanks Siberakh, I know you always have my back with this stuff. I’m actually convincing Shaun to drass as Gaara so we’ll both be from the same series! YAY! I’m even going to dye his hair and if I can convice him even more, he can wear those cool aqua contacts! hehehehe! I’ll have my very own little Gaara! ROFL!

                          bayoudragon, do you know the series? I know you dabble in anime and liked my Gaara Keeper. So when my suit is done should I post it here for you! 😉

                              I’ve had said lady be a jerkwad to me too. So… even though everybody else tells me she’s nice, I don’t think I believe them.
