Well, I promised several people I’d make a thread showing my work, so here it is.

These are my two newest pieces, commissions for Jacki. They’re a celtic wolf and a celtic dragon, made of sheet copper with stainless accents attached by tinners rivets. I chose the materials to be striking together, but resist galvanic corrosion (the way dissimilar metals sometimes flip out when contacting each-other).

I dug into the Book of Kells for inspiration and reference. The knots on the dragon’s hindquarters are directly from it, as are some of the critters facial markings, and large claws. Making these two was flipping epic! Very satisfying though. The young dragon is posing between the wolf’s paws to show size. Enjoy! 😀

Those are lovely! Beautiful work–lucky you, Jackid! Do you make them smaller? I know you do roses, but what’s the smallest you can do?

                        Thank you all! 😀 😳 🙂

Thanks Jacki, I hope you enjoy them. 🙂

@Ladyfirebird, I can make critters as small as 2×3 inches, but they have to be one piece and a simple design. Between four and eight inches is my usual size range for copper critters, it lets me get nice detail, without being tricky. The wolf and dragon are unusually large for the medium. Their size is what let me make them as complicated as they are.
