You ever had one of those days?
Woke up with a cluster headache on Friday…terrible nasty things, feels like you’re being stabbed on one side of your head everytime you move, and no meds help…none… Manage to get through work all day, and at 430 I get a call from my hubby. There’s been an accident. First thing he’s says is that it doesn’t involve our son, our cars, or any of the animals…good. Well, apparently the shelf on my wall…that he put up and was supposed to be really sturdy, fell. There were two shelves. The top one contained windstones, including all of my griffy chicks and my rainbow young dragon, as well as all of my lord of the rings pretties (candle lamp of lothlorien, arwen’s necklace and holder, phial of galadriel), and my anastasiamusic box. The bottom shelf had about 8 of my Asian Ball jointed dolls (think 2-500+ a doll).I wanted to cry. Kept it together until I got home, and nearly all of my griffy chicks, which were all minty mint, now have chips, rubs, and pieces missing. My rainbow dragon’s horn is gone. The LOTR stuf all shattered, irreparably (and mostly irreplacepable at this point). Anatastia music box in half…and while most of the dolls survived relatively unscathed, the rarest, oldest one, broke all the fingers on one hand, and his elf ears….
That’s when I did cry.
Hubby tried to fix the griffy chicks, but some are missing pieces we couldn’t find. Doll was fixed, but no longer mint…
I know that compared to all eveyone else’s woes, and even my only family problems (lots…), it’s no big deal, but it’s kind of like salt on the wounds….
Sorry, just wanted to rant.

Awww, sweetums! That’s really sucky and I’m sooooooooooooooo sorry! 😥 I know what it’s like to loose treasures and I’m so, so sorry – I would never wish that on anyone 😥

I am sorry to hear about your accident that’ is everybody’s worst nightmare. But it sounds like a job for Kirin
I don’t know how much help this is to you, but here are a couple ebay listings of the phial and the candle lamp. Just in case you are able, financially, to replace them.

That just sucks that your shelf with all your pretties had to fall.
ETA: There are lots of listings of the Evenstar necklace, but I couldn’t find one with a stand…
Were any of the LOTR things from The Nobel Collection? If so it looks like they are still available from them.
This is my personal opinion, but I don’t think ANYONE on here should be affraid to rant or seek support for the things in their life that are upsetting. Wether it’s a loved one passing, a friend that stabbed you in the back, losing a pet, or having our pretties lost or broken. Those of us who have the extra energy to sympathize and send love and well wishes will do so, and others may do so silently. But never be affraid that we’ll not send you big hugs of give a “shame on you” just because it’s not something you think is “big enough”. Just my 4 cents.
On the lighter side, I’m so sorry your pretties are damaged, some of them beyond repair. It makes me sick to my stomach to think of things of mine that have been destroyed by accident in the past. Sending Big Hugs that the greif won’t last too long and that your man will learn to build sturdier shelves! Much love!
That totally sucks! If that happened to me I’d be so heart broken, I probably couldn’t talk about it for a long time. I’m so sorry this happened to you–like your day wasn’t bad enough! Sending virtual chocolates, smores and any other kind of goodie that will help plus my comforting thoughts. I think all of us could relate even though this hasn’t happened to us–how would we feel if some of our pretties got damaged to the point where not even Kyrin could help!
I’m with Nirvanacat–if something is bothering someone and they need to get it off their chest, then by all means post it! We’re all here for you and yeah, sometimes, one may not have the words to express their sorrow or sympathy but they do so mentally. Life will suck for us all and it’s all we can do sometimes to make it day by day. Even the so called ‘little’ things can make our lives miserable especially when we’re not feeling good or worried about finances, jobs, homes you name it. So put it out there–no one, from what I see on this forum, is going to knock you down or berate you because the problem isn’t ‘big’ enough. It’s bothering you–that’s what matters!

Ditto that!!! We’re a family here and we love and support every member!!! Vents and rants are just as acceptable as happy dances and congrats – we lurvs ya, azurielle and vent all you want or need – it’s all good :yes:
