Hey Melody,
I saw you said in the Windstone Rejects thread that the gypsum company had sent you guys a sample that seemed to work, but then you said something in another thread that made me think maybe this still hadn’t been figured out, so…how’s that going? Was it a real fix or no?September 22, 2009 at 8:44 pm #499247September 22, 2009 at 10:05 pm #784361kitsunelady wrote:Hey Melody,

September 22, 2009 at 10:43 pm #784362Bummer 🙁 .
September 22, 2009 at 11:06 pm #784363Very sorry to hear that. 🙁
September 23, 2009 at 12:02 am #784364That is too bad. =( Were those few perfect casts just a fluke? Did it go back to doing what it was before (the tiny holes) after those? Or is it something else now? Do *all* the things you cast come out with pinholes, or is it just that there’s a majority like that? Has John’s (it was him doing that, right? can’t find the thread where you mentioned it) test casting shed any light on the issue?
Anyhoo, I have my fingers crossed that you guys can figure it out without too much [more] trouble. 6.6
September 23, 2009 at 2:34 am #784365[sigh] I was so hoping that the casting demons were exorcised! You have all of us crossing our fingers and rooting all you at the Windstone factory on! Be soooooo glad when all this is resolved–who knows, it might even be something easy–so easy that you didn’t even think of it! That’s how things like this are–so think of something easy and simple that could be going wrong. 🙂
October 1, 2009 at 5:25 pm #784366I’m just bumping to see if you guys are having any progress 😳 . I’m hoping there will be a chance in seeing some more pyos in the store before Christmas 😳 .
October 1, 2009 at 9:22 pm #784367Yes–the pyos–if those go in the store site will crash again! Even I, a so-so painter, would like some pyos to practice whatever it is I’m doing! 😆

I think i have two griffins left here…..so i am getting nirvouse painting my last keeper! if there are no more PYO’s for a while……there might be a few muses coming out from me.
October 2, 2009 at 6:08 am #784369I’m running low on PYOs as well. I only get monies to buy Windstones by selling my pyos (if they sell). No PYOs to paint, no new pretties for me 🙁 . I’m also chomping at the bit to paint a phoenix. I seem to remember seeing a pic of it’s mold (maybe it was in the blog  ?)
Edit: Oh yeah, here’s the blog 😉

October 14, 2009 at 2:31 pm #784371The gypsum hasn’t been doing right so they’ve had more imprefect castings than normal. That’s why there isn’t much in the store.

As far as I’m aware, they have been unable to pull normal sized batches (or any batches at all at times) of casts since well before the move when they closed down casting at the old Factory. Something is not working right with the gypsum.

My art: featherdust.comOctober 15, 2009 at 10:18 pm #784373Bummer. I hope that gets resolved. Kinda hard to make a living with no gypsum. 🙁
