So we had a torrential downpour last night. The sky was that weird green you get just before a tornado (and one did actually touch down in Woodbridge, killing one person), thunder like you wouldn’t believe. Things started to clear up about the time I was going to bed. Then I found a wet spot on my side, thought it was the cat…she’s getting old and has had a couple of accidents before. Until something dripped on my hand. Looked up and our ceiling is dripping. Looks like the drain pipe that runs from our upstairs neighbor’s balcony has developed a leak…a nice 3 foot long leak. So about midnight, we had to strip the bed, flip the mattress (cause I wasn’t going to sleep in the wet spots), move the bed and night stands out of the way and put down pots to catch the drips. Now I’m waiting for the condo maintenance guy to come and have a look. Only good thing is that this should be covered by our condo board. but I’m scared to see how much damage and how much work it’s going to take to fix it. 🙄 I am not a happy camper!! Especially since it’s supposed to storm again tonight. :shout: Sorry, just needed to vent. :shout:
August 21, 2009 at 10:22 pm #780495Sounds like an excellent reason to vent. Maybe they can get some plastic down before the storm tonight? I hope you don’t get too much rain. We are expecting some rain from Bill – they are worried about riptides down at the Jersey shore.
August 21, 2009 at 10:58 pm #780496Ugh, I’ve had quite enough of rain and flooding of late, so I quite understand your need to vent! I hope they act promptly on it, the rain clears away, and the repairs aren’t too intrusive.
August 22, 2009 at 12:00 am #780497Nothing like trying to hunker down in a storm just to find a bit of it seeping into your bedroom! What a headache! I hope repairs can be done swiftly or as ddvm says, plastic can be laid down. I keep hearing all these stories of heavy downfall in certain areas–how long has it been raining like this? I hope the rain ends soon for you and all of you can dry out a bit. [Hugs] Hope things turn for the best.
August 22, 2009 at 12:17 am #780498I hope you can get that patched fairly quickly. That must be some heavy rainfall you’re getting!
August 22, 2009 at 4:52 am #780499Man, that sucks! I hope you can get it repaired soon.
August 24, 2009 at 12:48 am #780500Thanks all. The maintenance guy came by, looked at it for all of 5 seconds and left. I’m not sure what the heck is happening now. I’ll phone him again in the morning. Luckily, the rain we had forecasted didn’t happen.

Didn’t have to pay for that since the hot water heater is rented. Still haven’t heard back from maintenance guy…now my mouse won’t track downwards. Am I being punished for something?? 🙄 I know my problems are really minor compared to other people’s. It’s just the little things that are driving me nuts today. 😈
August 25, 2009 at 5:34 pm #780503My mouse won’t track up or down, hasn’t for some time. I’m ready to…do violence to it.
August 26, 2009 at 2:37 pm #780504My mouse has not been able to go up for some time it must be a Windstone fan sort of thing!! Well the roller will not go up the mouse will move all over the screen but I ahve to manually put it somewhere like on the up arrow and push the button
Can you PLEASE stop hogging all that rain??? Rain means OT for me and I REALLY need it. hehe
