A Lancaster bomber flew into Edmonton City Center last weekend… it’s one of two flight capable Lancasters in the world. And we got some awesome pictures! We also have some nice pictures of a Saber Mark 5 (with mark 6 wings) – a redone Golden Hawk for those who know who the Golden Hawks are… and a few other planes that I would need my fiancee to identify! lol 🙄 😆

    So….

Anyone want to see pictures? *evil grin*

(click on the thumbnails to get the bigger pics… they are large pics!!!)

Well, here’s the pics of the f86 Saber (mark 5 with Mark 6 wings)

And a couple of the Lancaster!

More to come… probably a couple more of the Lancaster, and some f18 pics… a helicopter of some kind… they’re pretty sweet pics!

          Yes, pics please!

I saw the Golden Hawks many years ago in Seattle.

Flew… from ’59 – ’64. The current acrobatic planes from Canada are the Snowbirds – they fly CT-114 Tutors. The group that went between was the Golden Centiners (sp?) and they flew the same planes as the Snowbirds.

I’m not that knowledgeable, this is from aviation nut who works at aviation museum (ie. my fiancee) tells me.

                cool pictures!!! thanks!

Wow! The CT-114 is a pretty small jet too. Looks kinda like a trainer jet since it has such a straight wing.

Oh cool, you got to see the Lanc! I assume it’s the one from Hamilton, not the one from over in Britain? I went to McMaster University in Hamilton, so I saw the Lancaster on a fairly regular basis as it flew in and out of the city. It makes the most incredible sound, I loved listening to it roar by 😀

Yeah, the Hamilton one. Not the Britain one, I’m not sure they’d let it fly over here while the Hamilton one still flies… lol 😀

And the sound is incredible! I loved the low drone it made as it landed. 8)
