Why Does This CRAP KEEP HAPPENING TO ME?!?

OMG! Can we cay day from hell?!?!

Okay so I was pretty scarce yesterday for the most part of the latter afternoon and evening because I was ROBBED and dealing with Police and this crazy cracked out thief all day!

I’ll explain (before, let me say I’m okay now because I GOT EVERYTHING BACK from the maniac!)

So while were at work we have to stay in our “zone” on weekends to greet customers. This means I am away from my desk for the most part during this time and I have to pace back and forth around the front of the department and say hello to people. So anyway, or desks are set up (for lack of a better term) like a swastika. There are 4 desks that are kind of in a squarish circle that the designers sit at. On one side me and Lindsey, the other kitchen designer. And the other two are also for designers, but since there are only two of us the appliance people or whoever use them most of the time. They are in the center of the design area and vendors and other employees use them all the time. They are the only computers in the store besides the ones at the service desk that go online and we also have the only phones that can call out.

So I didn’t think it too unusual when I saw this fellow in a blue jumpsuit at my neighboring desk. When you sit at it, your back faces my desk. He was using the phone at first and then sat at the desk and was typing on the computer. I didn’t recognize him, but like I said, people are ALWAYS at our desks. Vendors check their stats online, cleaning guys call in their hours in from our phones, and service people who try and get customers to do installs are always in our way trying to sign people up on our computers for free in home estimates and crap. So at first, I didn’t think it too weird. After about 15 minutes or so I wandered by and just casually said hello to the guy. He was lucid, seemed really friendly and said hello back. I asked “so who are you a vendor for?” he told me (without even blinking) he was from the Norwood store and he was on vacation. His speech was a little *off*. I kinda felt like maybe he was borderline special needs or something, but we hire all kinds of people with disabilities so I just brushed it off and tried not to be rude. He said was just checking out or appliance and kitchen sales and comparing them with his store. He was going on about how impressed he was with our stores cleanliness. He seemed legit and intelligent and I honestly, besides his speech impediment, had NO CLUE this guy was a anything but the lunatic he actually was, as I found out soon after!

So my manager wandered by and saw me chatting it up and gave me the *get back in your zone* eye! So I told him I had to get back to work and walked away. So like 5 or 10 minutes later, I crossed paths with Bob, who works in electrical. He was zoning in his department too so we started to chat as well. He’s like “So did you see that guy in the blue pretending to be a DM, what was that about?” I was confused and I assumed I missed some gossip. So of course I was like “What?, who?” So he’s like “Yea, that blonde guy in the blue jump suit, he just left but he was trying to get on the computers up front saying he was a DM or something.” SO IMMEDIATELY alarms start going off in my head!

I’m like “Oh my god! He was just at the design computers like 5 minutes ago” SO at first we are all thinking he is someone from Lowes or something trying to get some information (believe it or not, it’s happened before! Workers from Lowes are notorious for coming in a stealing out sales binders and stuff if we leave them out) SO anyway, Bob and I go to the computers and there were all sites like match.com, classmates.com and stuff like that up on the screen. Then on MY COMPUTER there is gay porn and bestiality sites! The sites didn’t work because our work blocks them, but the address bars were there and you could tell by the names what they were supposed to be. SO Bob calls the manager, he comes over and is asking if I WAS ON THOSE SITES! I’m like “NO FREAKING WAY!” and I start explaining what happened! Just then I think! “OH CRAP MY BAG!” I opened the bottom drawer of my desk and my bag was dumped and there was stuff EVERYWHERE! ALL MY CREDIT CARDS, ATM, DEBIT CARD, ALL THE CASH I HAD FROM WORKING SATURDAY NIGHT, EVERYTHING GONE! I realized later he ALSO had 2 of my checks once I got a hold of myself and REALLY started digging in all my stuff to see what was missing!

SO, ALL my credit cards are junk anyway, so jokes on him there! I’m in debt consolidation so they’re all closed accounts anyway! BUT I have a Target card that still works, WHICH there is a Target RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET! so I IMMEDIATELY CALL THEM and ask to speak to the manager! I get this woman and tell her “I work at Home Depot across the street and this guy just took all my money and credit cards so if someone comes through the resisters can the PLEASE make sure they check the cards. SO then before I can even give her my name, she asks “Is your name Amanda?” I’m like “YES!!!!!” and she says, “was the guy ina blue jumpsuit?” and I scream “YYYYEEEEESSSS!!” so she then replies, “Yea, were watching him right now, because he already tried using a card of yours and it came up declined. Since the name didn’t match we confiscated it, but he’s walking around the store right now. SO I was like “PLEASE CALL THE COPS! I’m coming there RIGHT NOW!!!”

Tony, our manager told me I can’t go, I have to stay in the office and he will take care of it! I’m freaking out! I wanted to go and PUNCH this dude out! SO I’m in the office for like 45 minutes, just WONDERING what’s happening, what’s TAKING SO LONG!? What happened? Did he get away? Did the cops get called? GAH!

Finally the girl who does the main greeting at the front door came to get me and we went up front and there were the cops waiting! She and I had to both give statements about what happened and the cop gave me back EVERYTHING after confirming who I was. He pulled out a ziplock bag that had my stuff, AND stuff from like 2 or 3 other people. There was a pocket knife and some kind of prescriptions, I don’t know what it was, but it was some kind of pills in an orange prescription bottle. I got it all back except my money, he said the guy didn’t have any money on him. So now, I have to go and I.D the guy, he’s in the car. Sure no problem right!?!

I had to go up to the cruiser and look at him, but DUDE! I could BARELY I.D. him! He was dressed the same, and it “looked like him” but he was so calm and collected in the store. NOW he had his hands AND FEET in cuffs, he was on his back and stomping the ceiling of the cruiser SCREAMING with his head all sunk into his shoulders, wish his shoulders all hunched in the air around his ears. (Like he was trying to make his face looks fat or something, I have no idea) So I’m TRYING to look at him and he SMASHED is face into the window and started licking and drooling all over it and STARING AT ME! He reminded me of those freaking crazy running zombies from the Dawn of the Dead movies!

So they’re going to take him away after I I.D.ed him right!?!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo!!!!!!

Dude! We all go back into Home Depot. I sit back at my desk, BREATHING some sighs of relief that they guy didn’t get away with EVERYTHING of mine and then Tony comes and grabs me by my arm and escorts me to the office again. So I’m thinking I am in trouble right? Hes like “You’re not going to be happy about this” I’m thinking, Okay, what I’m going to get a write up for having my purse in my desk or something. NO! The guys is BACK IN THE STORE and LOOKING FOR ME! The cop brought him to the end of the parking lot and LET HIM GO because NOBODY PHYSICALLY SAW HIM STEAL ANYTHING they couldn’t arrest him! Only give him a citation or something like that for possession of stolen property. Since my card declined, he also couldn’t get into any trouble for credit card fraud either! Later I found out, he was just released from detox the night before and that’s why he had pills. Apparently he was wearing a medical bracelet for them.

So he walked around the store looking in my department for me, and when he saw my manager coming he left quietly. I go back to my deck, and NOW my business cards are gone! I got a few hang up calls at my desk, then while I was as lunch I got a message the police tried to call me and needed my social security number for some report they needed and they also wanted my schedule. So I call the police station and talk to the officer that was actually AT the scene and I talked to before and he said nobody called me and they would never ask for that kind of information. WTF!?! Now I’m getting freaked!

*sigh* Well, it gets even weirder!

I called Shaun, my boyfriend, and told him the whole thing and he doesn’t want me in the store alone, so he rode his bike down and stayed me with for a while. I lost all my money so we went down the street at the mall to grab some food after work and GUESS WHO WAS THERE!?! All strung out and apparently getting arrested AGAIN! This time for breaking into a car, stealing someones purse out of the car, and trying to use their stuff to buy some sneakers. THIS time he got arrested because someone saw him! Now I get to go to court if I want to and press charges if I want as well. Now I’m waiting to hear back from the cops on what I am supposed to do next if I want to do anything at all. GAH!

I’m not sure what to do, but I’m still a little worried that he knows my name and EXACTLY where I work… I don’t know if I should peruse it or not.
