Melody,
I am trying to find/remember what you/the staff said about raffle prizes. I’m pretty sure I recall you/they/us concluding that, since you can’t enter another raffle after winning a prize, you also can’t enter again if you sell the piece (since it was free!), but that someone could give away their prize and be eligible again for future raffles…Am I remembering this right?
Also, what about the person who receives a given piece? On the one hand, they have a raffle prize, so maybe they’re now ineligible? On the other hand, they still haven’t *won* a piece, so maybe they can still enter?
Thank you!

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.July 5, 2009 at 1:15 am #773718Nightcrow, are you thinking of parting with your New Year’s Lap?
July 5, 2009 at 1:26 am #773719Oooo that was a pretty lap. I think you can also sell or raffle your own piece and be eligible again if the money goes to a charity.
July 5, 2009 at 1:56 am #773720I’m going to hijack and bring this over from another thread…

After I post a pic of the prize somewhere, ( I keep changing where I post it, to keep people on their toes)You can decide if it is something you would like to win, then send me an email, ( Reptangleâ„¢(at) gmail (dot) com) with the words: “June raffle” in the subject line, so I can find your entry among all the spam. If you have entered before, just include your fourm name in the email. If you are new to this, or can’t remember include your forum name, real name and address too. I choose a winner sometime around the end of the month.
If you win a Windstone raffle, you can’t enter again unless you give your prize away to a charity,, or someone who wants it more than you , or sell it and donate the proceeds to a charity. It can be a personal charity, such as a friend in need. Pets count as friends.
Nobody edits this, so I can use all the darn commas, I want.I would gather this to mean that if you give the prize to someone who wants it more than you, then it counts as that person winning: so the person who gets it doesn’t get to enter the raffles anymore, unless they decide to pass the piece on too. If you sell the piece and donate to a friend/charity/pet I’m not sure if you have to show proof of the donation or not.
Hope I got that all right… otherwise it means I got it wrong, in which case, I must hang my head in shame.
July 5, 2009 at 2:39 am #773721But what if you sell it to another person. I understand that the seller would still no longer be able to enter the raffles but I don’t think it would be fair to the buyer to not be able to enter the other raffles since they’re putting up money for the item. Man, we really could use an official set of rules… 😈 I’m getting so confused (not that that isn’t a normal state for me).
July 5, 2009 at 4:15 am #773722The buyer would still be eligible since they paid for it. The seller would not. Basically, if YOU (not a charity) get money for something that was free, you are no longer eligible. 🙂

Thank you!Yes, the person who receives the piece either by buying it, or getting it free from a winner is still eligible. For YOU to be eligible to enter a raffle again, you need to give it away, or donate the proceeds of selling it to charity.
I am making up these rules as I go, and there are lots of scenarios I can think of that I don’t have rules for, such as: you give the piece to your friend who sells it and gives you the money, or you give the piece to a family member who doesn’t particularly like Windstones, so they let you keep it with your collection, forever…
I don’t worry about stuff like that. I know that all of you are completely honorable.July 6, 2009 at 1:30 am #773726Thanks Mel, and we would never want to abuse your trust. That’s one of the reasons I love this company. 😀
