I must admit my heart sank when I received my Amethyst Curlie from the second batch and it didn’t look like the store picture. I’m one of those people who doesn’t like orange and purple together but purple is my favourite colour. I can gloss over the orange eye for the sake of the purple on the body but the curlie had some traces of orange paint on his body which I don’t like (the streak under the eye is especially annoying for me lol!). I ordered a new curlie last night and have been assured the glaring orange paint isn’t on this one so I’m looking forward to that. I was just curious if the whole of the second batch had these orange streaks or if I was one of the few unlucky ones? Lol!
Anyway here are pics:
it looks just like the one I got from the first batch.. it looks fine to me because that orangey rust color really brings the purple out brighter..
I just looked at mine. He’s from the first batch and he does not have the extra orange. I like him fine without the extra orange, but I can understand why it would help bring out the purples more.
Mine is from the first batch and he only has it on his wing edges and his eye ridges/top of nose
I like yours 😉 whatcha gonna do with him?
Thanks for the input so far! ^_^ I’ve seen pics of no-orange curlies on the boards so hopefully my new one is more like those.

I’d probably sell him if someone wanted him.. or trade. I’d wait until my new curlie gets here first but I’d be open to selling/trading if someone wanted him. ^_^
Heres mine that I got from the second batch… I personally love it!!! I like all the orange/rusty color!

Mine looks like this too. It was from the first batch.
No orange for me. From the first batch, if you would have posted this before getting another one, I would have traded mine with you, but… since you got another one already…. :shrug: I don’t really want two.
But I do like the orange on there…. it breaks up the purple, and makes it stand out.
Mine is from the first batch and looks exactly like the Store picture: no orange/rust. I really like the all-purple version; but after seeing these pictures with the orange streaks, I like those also. The Store has four in stock; I wonder which I would get if I ordered one now? Then I keep telling myself that I have one and do not need another one. It is an addiction!
Wow. I liked the color before I saw those orange highlights, but those little bits of orange contribute so much!

Thanks for the replies. Looks like there was a mixture of all-purple and orange-purple dragons made. Makes me feel slightly better that it wasn’t just bad luck I guess lol! If any orange lovers particularly want this dragon, let me know any time. ^_^ I’d rather he go somewhere he’s appreciated but I don’t mind hanging onto him until then (with all the amethyst dragons I’m sure most people are short of funds lol!).

You could try emailing Susie if you want to be tempted lol! ^_^ When I saw the new batch in the store I asked if any were all-purple and she found one that was more to my liking. It’s been sent now so I’m excited about my new curlie.
