Have you ever been called Mel? Do you like it/hate it?
Have you had any other nicknames that you have been called? 😀May 14, 2009 at 4:41 pm #764323I’m sure I have heard and seen just Mel before. I’m pretty sure it has been here or maybe it’s just for a girl I work with at my full time job???
May 15, 2009 at 11:53 pm #764324I’ve called her Mel on here. Hopefully she doesn’t hate it! 😳

Have you had any other nicknames that you have been called? 😀Mel is fine.. I always liked it because I always thought it sounded like a cartoonists name. I wish.

No, I take that back.
When I was about 11 years old I had a lunch box that had removable letters that spelled my name. I lost the “d” and the “y”, so my name was rearranged into “Mole”. It totally stuck. I liked it. EVERYBODY called me Mole. Then I lost the “l” and I was “Moe” for awhile. Then the “o” got lost and from then on, I was just “Me”.
the “Y”May 16, 2009 at 6:29 pm #764328I love Mole! Much better than my nickname – Fuddy Duddy. Blech.
May 16, 2009 at 11:15 pm #764329Heloo ME!!
Now why does that sound strange??May 17, 2009 at 3:22 am #764330Dragon Master wrote:Heloo ME!!
Now why does that sound strange??Because you aren’t saying “Hi! I’m Me!”

I was “Penut”.
May 17, 2009 at 5:37 am #764332I was alot of things I don’t care to mention. The only nickname that I didn’t hate was Kris. I also had Kristy but those are kinda just plays on my name.
May 18, 2009 at 7:04 am #764333Sometimes my grandparents call me Riechen. It’s a diminutive of Maria, but if it’s not pronounced properly it’s also the German word for “smell.”
Older English speakers tend to forget the last “a” in my name and take to calling me Marie.
In forums I go by some form of Basilisk. It’s funny in the biker forums, because when I introduce myself with my name aka Basilisk, I generally have to explain the mythology of the critter, and then they remember its the cantonal namesake of the half-cantons of Basel City and Basel Country. The joke of the matter is that I’m from Zürich, and there’s an old-standing rivalry between those two cantons.May 20, 2009 at 1:33 am #764334Melody wrote:ddvm wrote:I love Mole! Chloe is called Peanut!
I love your lunchbox story!
My first name is Katie, so I have been called Katydid, Katybug, Katycake, KatieDoo, etc. I like it. One other nickname I was given was “Freckleface.” A bunch of kids on an Indian reservation gave me that one, so I wonder if they hadn’t seen so many freckles on one person before? -
