I don’t know why, but I asked hubby for an epilator for an early b. day present, (well my name surely isn’t Einstein), that stuff really hurts, but at least my bathroom won’t be covered with wax ( I really am very clumsy)

May 1, 2009 at 1:40 am #763169From the Wikipedia:
An epilator is an electrical device used to remove hair by mechanically grasping multiple hairs simultaneously and pulling them out. The way in which epilators pull out hair is similar to waxing, although unlike waxing, they do not remove cells from the epithelium of the epidermis. Aside from the spring in early spring-type epilators, there are no parts in epilators that require regular replacement. Epilators come in corded, rechargeable and battery operated designs.Epilation can be painful to some people because, as with waxing, it involves pulling hair out of the roots. Because of the pain involved being particularly bad on the first epilation of an area, some people prefer to have the area professionally waxed first, then use epilation to remove regrowth.
Bleh I say! :nea: :shout:

I tried one when I was a teenager and OMFG 😮 😡 those things are EVIL incarnate.
May 1, 2009 at 6:35 am #763174You’re a strong women to keep at it. I gave that up long ago 😆
May 1, 2009 at 8:23 am #763175haha, XD keep at it?, I just got it yesterday, but it beats waxing, and shaving my legs is not really good for dark and errrr…… need word……. rough hair, when I noticed that it was getting rougher with every shave I did it more and more seldom, I always waxed before but hubby threw away my heater, he thought it was dirty, (it wasn’t dirty, it just wasn’t new), I told him he was crazy to throw away my stuff he’d better buy me a new one (but for his defense, that device used to be my moms, and it was really old and maybe I didn’t know how to clean it properly, but I did clean it) and that was 2003, now six years later the epilator is here, and it sure beats waxing
what is nair??
May 1, 2009 at 12:12 pm #763176Nair is some cream you spread on your legs and it dissolves your hair. It works for fine hair, but it has never worked for mine.
May 1, 2009 at 3:31 pm #763177oooohh that, 🙂 it doesn’t work for mine either
but when I looked it up in my dictionary I found out that Nair is the currency of Nigeria, I just couldn’t figure out how that was a hair removal device 😀
May 1, 2009 at 6:39 pm #763178XD
Yeah, I only use it if I have absolutely no razor blades I can trust…I found my son likes my razors for some reason… 😕 (I just can’t understand why he won’t use his dad’s! 😡 )May 1, 2009 at 9:29 pm #763179I’m happy with my little pink razors. Though I’ll do the Nair thing just before we go on honeymoon. I’m hoping it’ll last a little longer.
May 1, 2009 at 11:07 pm #763180yeah it works all right, just don’t forget while daydreaming, that shit burns if you forget it on :shout:
