to begin with Ash day is like our Halloween, our kids (and people who work with children) dress up in costumes, but they walk from store to store in daylight and sing for candy, and it is always the Wednesday that is 7 weeks before Easter,
well, my son is going as Sportacus (I love those sowed abs 😀 )
and since I am a teacher I am supposed to wear something too
My first thought, Naruto’s Hatake Kakashi, good Idea, exept for the fact that there is no cosplay store in Iceland, (they only sell either super expensive costumes or trash, and I don’t buy trash) and they only sell costumes for children, and if I wanted a complete Kakashi costume, then I have to order from like 12 different ebay stores :nea: shipping costs are hell, and customs, well don’t even go there, I would have to pay between 3-400 dollars for that
my second thought, Allen Walker (as Crown Clown) from D Grey Man, not as costly, I was just going to buy a square meter of a super fluffy white material, I had the materials for most everything else for that one, and guess what!! I searched every fabric store that I could find and they only have black, and there wasn’t a shipping arriving anytime soon because of the economical situation 😥 I even searched for cheap white super fluffy pillow cases to destroy, well,, no sulking, and off to the next idea
since I had D Grey man in mind, I might as well go as Aristair Krory (Crow san) the vampire Exorsist, I even talked to my former boss about coming in his dental technitians workshop and make myself some credible Vampire teeth, sure he said no problem, I got the most part finished yesterday and I had an appointment again today, and as I approached his workshop today, I watched him drive off, so I called him it went like this
ME: dude you left?!?
Him: oh you’re there?? everybody has gone
M: I noticed
H: well, you can finish it later, I don´t feel like coming back
M: but, my teeth are in there and it is tomorrow?!?
H: yeah, seeya lateer CLICI just stood for a while looked at the phone and :shout:
I was so frustrated, I live in a small town and there’s no way I can get a costume within the time limit I had, if I had to drive to the capital, the stores that had a chance on saving me would have been closed by the time I got there, gosh I could have kicked something, well no sulcing
off to my place, see what I can find, I’ll probably end up as an Emo pirate or a Drow elf or something, if I can find my ears that is

That bites! If you have everything for Aristair minus the teeth, I would go as him anyways. I cosplay and while things like contacts and teeth can really add to a costume, they are just an icing to a cake so to speak. If the costume itself stinks, contacts or pointy teeth aren’t going to save it. However, if the costume is quite solid, people will know who you are without the extras. Also, honestly most people (except for some elitist cosplayers) will care if you have those extras and most people don’t go that extra mile because they don’t have the money to splurge on an accessory like that. Besides, it’s D. Gray Man! Go as Aristair anyways!!! 8) I cosplay Yoruichi, but I don’t have yellow contacts (yet… working on getting them, hopefully for Anime Boston in May… they will cost a good amount, since I have an astigmatism and have to order them special from a special effects place for that reason – only one company sells regular contacts for those with an astigmatism and they only come a few colors, and not in a specialty color). I also don’t have a darker skin color. People still knew who I was and I had a blast! 🙂
If you were ever really hard up on a cosplay and needed something really quick, there is always Umehito Nekozawa from Ouran High School Hosts club. Check out youtube or zomganime for episodes 🙂 There is always L from Death Note (simple, a lot of people cosplay him, but he’s readily recognizable and will do in a pinch, and I believe your hair is dark, correct? You could get by without a wig… just mess it up a little.) or Light Yagami from Death Note (write down the name of any student who misbehaves in a notebook all day *evil grin*).
I wish I could help with the costume situation, I do agree with going without the teeth, but I found the Ash Day stuff interesting.
awww… thank you guys, well, since I had no teeth I couldn’t get myself to sow that Aristair costume, when I am irritated, I know that I should not sow (can’t sow straight in that state of mind, the cape would have looked more like a ponpon)
but I found some cool garments I had forgotten, or not found in ages (maybe I should go through my clothes)
I went as a rather creepy Gypsy fortune teller, (even borrowed my brothers crystal ball), I’ll post a picture later tonight
