ok so a few of my friends work out at a hunting preserve and i have been begging for some pheasant feathers like a 4 year old begging for candy. so finaly after 4 months of immature begging whimpering and puppy dog eyes i got some tail feathers!!! wooot!!! so i am going to make one of my next wolf’s based off of the browns and rose colors of the pheasant feathers and maybe a new nebula 😀

February 24, 2009 at 2:01 pm #752569I have no doubt in my mind that it will turn out lovely, just like all your wolves do. 🙂
I look forward to seeing the pics, when he/she is done.February 24, 2009 at 8:05 pm #752570Ooh, a pheasant was the other bird I was deciding between when I caved and did my last Griffen as a peacock. Will still do one later, once they’re back in stock. 🙂
I’ll keep an eye out for your wolf, i’d love to see how it turns out. Plan on doing any interference paints on him?
Oh! And have you ever seen the black melanistic pheasants? if no, look them up- black feathers with an iridescent green shine. Gorgeous!
February 24, 2009 at 9:01 pm #752571This reminds me of a book I have. o.o You guys would probably like it…it’s by the same guy who did “Extraordinary Chickens”, except this one is called “Extraordinary Pheasants”! I’ve also got “Extraordinary Pigeons”. 😀 They’ve got some really nice photos in them.

i was looking at the feathers i have and the sides have a red sheen that i can mimic with the interfierence i have 😀February 25, 2009 at 4:18 pm #752573Pheasants are gorgeous birds, there are lots of them here in South Dakota so I see their feathers often at garage sales. Only the wild variety though, although the family as a whole is amazingly diverse and beautiful. Good luck, can’t wait to see your results!
Forever seeking: Blackwatch the raffle Old Warrior, Jennifer Miller's pieces, and GB Baby unis!
