Hello Melody,
I know you guys are still settling in and trying to restock alot of the regular production items right now but I was wondering if you think this may be the year that we see some new sculpts in store like the phoenix, the rumored hippocamp and meraid pyo’s??. Also perhaps a finnished sculpt of your lion Kyrin (not sure if he was ever destined for the store or just a personal project?) Are any of these pieces goals for the end of this year, or are you thinking maybe next year due to all the chaos surrounding the move?.
This isnt a squeek too add to your growing list of demands (boy we dont know how to give a girl a day off do we? ) just me being curious as to whether you will get any sculpting time this year given all the disruptions from the move.

February 18, 2009 at 4:18 pm #752128These guys take a while! Though she has some started and near completion, there is a lot of tweaking after the sculpture is ‘done’- she often goes back in and has to change and refine things depending on how the mold and casting goes. Sometimes she has to do this several times! This can take weeks.
As far as new sculpture, here is what she said before…
Melody wrote:It takes a full year(mostly sanding) to finish a medium sized dragon. But the actual hours are difficult to figure because I will be working on several sculptures at at time…I will have a couple main ones that I focus on, and I switch back and forth while new castings are being made of them. Some sit for years, waiting for their turn to be finished.Dragons take a long long long time to do.Fur things take less time, feathers are the worst! That is why a Phoenix is something I hesitate to think about doing. Yikes. The actual first sculpture I can do in a day or two. That is the easy part!
Also bear in mind that Melody is the only painter right now and she has her hands busy doing many things… it might be a while before we see too many new sculpts!

My sculpture list in order of how close it is to production;these are the finished sculptures that just need mold work:
Keeper dragon pyo. Just needs production molds poured
vampire bat
wing bookends
garden dragon
Phoenix pyo needs final master mold finished ( mold is half done)then there is sculpture that is almost done, but needs completing:
Large Winged wolf
Large flapcat facing the other way
Flion facing the other way ( and I need to rework the old flion)
large pegasus
pebble cats
castle
lion kirin
pyo mermaid
tiny pyo fairy (?)there are probably a few nearly finished ones more I can’t remember.
and the ones still in clay:
Pyo hippocampus
2 poad babies
anthro wolf
Hippogriff mareFebruary 18, 2009 at 5:17 pm #752130Adaneth wrote:Just to tag along on that–how’s it coming with the baby Poadâ„¢ sculpt? 😀
If anyone asks me what the hardest creature to sculpt is I’d say baby poads, because they have to match a image in my head, not a picture!. This is really hard! I have the same trouble with the lion kirin.
February 18, 2009 at 5:34 pm #752131Thanks you gals!!!!
What a great list to look forward to, Im especially excited to hear pyo keepers and phoenix’s are close to the top!!!!! I hope your able to get some painters trained soon so you can go back to doing some sculpts and still have some time for Reptangle(c) as well!! :bye:
February 18, 2009 at 6:34 pm #752132SQUEEEEE! I’m so excited tho hear the vampire bat and garden dragon is so close to the top of the list! AND flap cats too. Yay 😀 !

February 18, 2009 at 10:37 pm #752134Squee, pebble cats too~ They’re kinda close to the top. o.o <3
I am all about some phoenix PYO-ing! 😀 + winged bookends.
February 18, 2009 at 11:45 pm #752135I’m so excited about finally getting a PYO Phoenix, my head is about to explode! So cute!
Any decision made on whether or not the large flap cat with be a PYO?
February 18, 2009 at 11:49 pm #752136I’m wondering to if the Flap Cat is going to be a PYO as well. I really, really, really hope so. I have so many ways I want to paint them 😀 .
February 19, 2009 at 12:50 am #752137Vampire bats! Squee! I can’t wait to paint some winged bookends too! So many patterns with hawks, falcons, tropical birds, etc. 🙂
February 19, 2009 at 1:15 am #752138I’m also curious about the Large Flapcat. I’m wondering if it will be bat-winged or bird-winged, since the ones already made are bird-winged.
February 19, 2009 at 1:44 am #752139Im curious as to whether the new Flion will be a male facing a new direction or a Flioness!!! 😕 Awesometastic either way!!!!!
