So i’m trying to pick out another curio cabinet because the one I originally bought is too small for my growing collection. http://www.curiocabinet-store.com/p/pulaski-20855-nut-brown-curio-cabinet This is the cabinet I have now. My emperor obviosly doesnt fit in it because although it says 11 in deep it’s lying by including all the outer wood. So I was wondering for those of you that have cabinets what dimensions your cabinets are. I want to fit two emperors on the bottom shelf. Any ideas? Thanks!
February 11, 2009 at 6:24 am #751649That’s a lovely cabinet.
My Spectrals are in a non-descript IKEA case. If the emp is taller than a Riser, though, he won’t fit in there.February 11, 2009 at 7:09 am #751650Well its not so much the height as it is the depth. The cabinet i have now should be deep enough but it isnt. I was looking to get one that is 12 inches deep but since the one I have now is 11 I dont think it will be enough. he other one i’m looking at is 20 in deep but its quite a bit more expensive
February 11, 2009 at 1:46 pm #751651Are those particular cabinets sold in a physical store that you could go to? Then you can take a tape measure and check for your self.
February 11, 2009 at 6:19 pm #751652Im not sure if they sell anything like that around here where I live. I’m kinda in the middle of no where. That’s why I like this website because their shipping is free. I think I’ll probably just have to go with the 20″ deep one when I can afford it. Here’s a link to it http://www.curiocabinet-store.com/p/pulaski-20994-chocolate-cherry-curio-cabinet I’ll be saving for a long time to get it but I like that its really open. My other one has too much wood blocking my veiw.

That is a beautiful curio cabinet. Coincidently I just bought it from Costco (Canada) and absolutely love it. I’m sure it is available through Costco (USA). By the way it was only half that price. Also I checked the Costco websites and don’t see it so it might have been just an in store special.
February 12, 2009 at 5:39 am #751654Darn! I’ll have to run down to my costco and take a look around! That price tag is really holding me back. What are you keeping in yours if I may ask? Is it big enough for you? Any pics?
February 12, 2009 at 10:09 pm #751655Have you checked your local craigslist ads? I know you said you are in the middle of no where, but you might find such a great deal on one, that it might be worth the trip to pick it up (provided you get lots of photos beforehand).
February 13, 2009 at 12:43 am #751656I’ve looked a few times on craigslist but the ones for sale are usually too far away or too expensive or too big. People are asking a lot for their used curios it seems to me.
February 14, 2009 at 10:00 pm #751657I still don’t know how to post pics but my 2 cabinets are 14″ deep and I have my Emperos and their Flediges sitting in front of them on the bottom shelf. I have doors that slide left and right
Mine are wide enough to have 4 Emperor’s on the bottom of each oneFebruary 14, 2009 at 11:34 pm #751658Thanks for telling me those dimensions. I think i’ve only found one cabinet that was 14″ deep. I’ll have to keep looking

well I think it was 14″ but like yours that is the outside dImension. I LOVE my 2 cabinets. I wish I had ordered 3 when I got them. I will NEVER find a matching one now since Levitz has gone out of buiness. I have no idea who made these and they are a few years old now
March 6, 2009 at 6:46 pm #751660I have been looking on craigslist for a long time, and a lot of people want in the several hundreds for used ones. What I worry about- is how much can a glass shelf hold? Right now I have a wood thing that is like a dresser on the bottom and enclosed glass on top with wood shelves, I feel much safer putting them on those shelves they are so heavy. I’m paranoid… one top shelf breaks and the whole collection is smashed.
March 14, 2009 at 7:11 pm #751661Good luck I have had mine for about 4 years now and NO problems there at all!
