December 2, 2008 at 5:50 am #743288I love it!!! 😀 I like the name too!
I feel bad now though. 🙁 I haven’t even had a chance to sit down to paint since early last week! It is very frustrating, but the holiday is over and the next is on it’s way. I plan to sit down to paint and brush tomorrow when I get up in the morning. I should be able to finish up the barring then. I have about a dozen feathers to go, and he is finally ready for clearcoating. I was thinking of satin finish for him since gloss will be quite shiny and fur, while shiny isn’t that shiny. Neither are hawk feathers. I have both gloss and satin, which would you prefer?
I think you did a wonderful job on all those swirly lines! I haven’t gotten anything with a pattern like that. And, that purple will match nicely with the Starling you painted for me last swap! 8)
(I did do a flyby reading perhaps Saturday, I can’t remember, and did see your PM and then this thread, but just hadn’t the time to sit and post. I didn’t want you to think I didn’t like my Griff! 😳 )
December 2, 2008 at 1:25 pm #743289Well, it will sure match the starling as it’s the very same purple I used!
The finish I use is satin. I find the high gloss stuff reflects too much the light and hides details, so you go right ahead!
(And I figured you were too busy – you had told me before you liked him!)
