Ok…So today I got on ebay, and I notice there are no Money order payments available on ANYTHING. 🙁
So, I buy 3 DVD’s (All Stephen King ofcourse. Trying to peice together my collection again.) cuz in the auction, it says they accept MO’s.
I get a mail from the seller, not giving me an address, but telling me that they aren’t allowed by ebay to accept money orders anymore for payment! 😮 WTF!?!
My days on ebay are now done I guess. I had to argue with the seller to sell me the DVD’s that they said in their listing they would take Money orders for! 😡
I refuse to put my info on the net since I have already fallen prey to that once, and now I get one of the best places taken from me because its a new “rule”? This is really getting unfair on ebay’s part. I have paid before and not gotten my item, but I have never drug ebay into it. I have NEVER not paid. I have over 90 pos in feedbacks and EVRYONE has been paid with a MO.
So, if you are someone like me, and pay by money order, or refuse to put money acct info on the web, then I guess you are in the same boat. 😕
    Way to go ebay. :negative:

(I guess what really bites my cookie is that I won’t be able to get anything Windstone off there again. Not even from Windstone. This so sucks! 😥 )

I wasn’t really happy about that either. I have returning customers that use Money orders. I had a really good customer that sends me MO’s ask what I was going to do with her. I told her to email me first whatever she wants and ebay will just have to lose their commision from me. I’m not going to lose a great customer because they want to have a monopoly on pay services.

So, basically you are going to end the auction early for whatever she is wanting. I am lost, and don’t get it.
I WAS planning on putting a couple Griffs PYO’s on there and trying my hand at selling, but I guess not now. 😕
It just really upsets me. I don’t know why, I don’t really have money to spend right now, but if I did, I couldn’t anyway. 🙁
(The movies came to a whopping total of $21.66 including shipping. 😀 )

I’ve noticed your stuff. *Looks slyly around* I really wish I had monies for that ruby OW… 😮

What about one of those pre-paid credit cards? Can you use them for pay-pal?

        #742823

I don’t know. Scott has offered me use of his paypal account (I just gotta figure out how to put money into it, and if it requires a credit card then I guess I won’t be using that either). But right now, I am so upset by this, that I don’t know if I want to give ebay any more business. Not that my purchases alone will effect them, but I am sure there are thousands who use MO’s like I do because of the fear of their info being passed on the net.
Honestly, I hope ebay loses it’s ass on this one. 😛

I think it’s a totally stupid new rule. But then they couldn’t all the interest from your payments through Paypal. Before they introduced Paypal, I always paid by MO and never, ever lost one.

WC, you can link your bank account to your Paypal account but I’m not sure how comfortable you would be doing that. That is the way mine is set up because I don’t have any credit cards. You pay by what they call an e-cheque. They get a notice that I’ve started the payment. The money comes out of my account in 2 days, but it takes 5 more business days to get to them…which is the really annoying part because I know it’s just sitting in their clearing account accruing interest for them. But like I said, I don’t have any credit cards so my options are limited. 🙄

Yes you can! I have one that I got through Walmart that’s reloadable. So far that’s what I’ve used for all of my purchases.

As far as I know you can find the cards by any Walmart register or you can try at http://www.walmartmoneycard.com (not sure if you can buy cards there though but they have all the information) You buy a card and then when you call to activate it they will take your information and in about a week they will send you a new card with your name on it. The card works just like a regular credit card, but you only have as much money as you add to it. Plus you can add money to it at any walmart register.

I hope this helped out some people. 🙂

Thank you for the info very much. I have no clue what Scott’s paypal is attached to…Possibly his savings acct. 😕 But that is an idea with the prepaid thing.

wtf?? I haven’t been able to use paypal (or ebay) for months since my old computer crashed… too paranoid I guess… but now ebay doesn’t allow money orders?? how am I supposed to get my Bleach stuff now??? *shakes fists at the sky* WWWWRRRRYYYYYYYYYYY

They tried this in Australia, and the government sued eBay for violation of local merchant acceptance rights. Australia won. This was not that long ago, so I’m surprised they are pulling this in the US now.

Hmmm. Maybe the same thing will happen to eBay here. I agree, what they’re doing is just plain greedy. Jerks.
