I’m sitiing here this morning catching up on email and stuff and hear a commotion out the window. So I leaned over enough to see out at what was going on. There are 5 or 6 BIG deer about 20 feet from the window, eating the apples out of the tree that we haven’t picked yet and Pixel our 6lb. kitty is guarding the tree with her life! She’s all ‘poofed’ up and hunch-backed with her tail lashing back and forth. When the deer get curious enough to want to know what she’s doing, they saunter over and sniff her and get swipped on the nose for their efforts! They’ve all gone back th chomping apples and Pixie is down around their ankles clawing and biting at ’em… I guess the deer have had enough, but it’s been funny to watch. Guess I’ll bring Pixel in so the deer can eat in peace. It’s bowhunting season and since you can’t shoot within a certain distance of houses, the deer are becoming rather bold… Pixie doesn’t like it; Loki could careless! 😆

September 30, 2008 at 4:08 pm #734570I’ve had deer come right up to the back fence at my parent’s place. It’s cool to see! 🙂

be careful with the deer that close . we also have a no hunting zone 1 acre from all houses but some red necks started to hunt right in the streets last Spring , here is the story
September 30, 2008 at 10:30 pm #734575Did you happen to get pics of this event? It would be fun to see.

saw it on the news , the baseball diamond had 2 corpses all cut up and blood every place . One lady even had an arrow in the siding of her house . I keep away from deer now near housing areas
October 1, 2008 at 2:31 am #734578I meant, pictures of the cat holding off the deer who were eating the apples, not pictures of Necrons horror story.
October 1, 2008 at 2:48 am #734579Nope; still can’t find the camera… I think Roddy took it with him to Saskatchewan… He’s there for business this week; I’ll keep looking, though 😀

Well that’s not what I was referring too, I don’t want to see pictures of that! I was just commenting on what Necron posted. 😳
The cat puffing up at the deer would be entertaining to see though (I’m sure Fluff would have had he ever been outside that early, Kimi would just try to be friends 🙄 ).
