😉 Just thought I should ask this question in the ‘ask Melody’ thread so new members can also know the answer to it.
With the new way you do raffles, when entering, if a member wins can he/she still enter other future raffles ❓

No. If you win you get to sit and watch the rest of the raffles with your prize sitting next to you. But If you give it away to someone else who wants it more than you, or sell it and donate the proceeds to charity (such as a needy forum member) you can re-enter future raffles. (I am making up these rules on the fly)September 23, 2008 at 5:48 pm #733446Melody wrote:Blackdesertwind wrote:😉 Just thought I should ask this question in the ‘ask Melody’ thread so new members can also know the answer to it.

September 23, 2008 at 8:06 pm #733447I would hope our members would be honest enough to tell us the truth, or we’d probably at the very least hear all about it on the forum from the giving/recieving members 😉
I think it’s a good rule though, because this way everyone can win eventually. I guess once there aren’t any more members who haven’t won we can start over again. I think if a member sells their prize though they are getting money for *technically* a free Windstone so they probably shouldn’t re-enter. Then they could just keep winning and selling them to make money and that’s just not cool. If member want to exchange their prizes though then have at it.
Got a busted Windstone?

I don’t think that anyone that sells their prize for their own gain should be able to re-enter. Melody said though, that people that sold the prize and then say donated the earnings to charity or a needy forum member could then re-enter. Meaning, I think: charity begets charity, but profit begets sitting on the sidelines for other raffles! 😉

Something like that makes sense…. 🙂
September 24, 2008 at 8:31 pm #733455I agree and if I was the person selling it for charity, I wouldn’t have a problem providing the proof to Melody.

Ditto.
Now, what if we gave our raffle prize to a fellow Forum member as a gift?
Windstone collector in remission. 😉

I also wouldn’t have problem with proof, but that invokes the question, what constitutes as proof?
And if you gave it to a forum member as a gift, seems random… but would the recipient be out of future raffles (assuming it wasn’t a trade)? I would almost think not, but… still they got a raffle prize, right?
