August 28, 2008 at 11:47 pm #730266The eyes were not uncovered after the dragon was repainted. Wonder what color eyes and jewels are hiding under there.
August 28, 2008 at 11:48 pm #730267Yeah I wasn’t sure if maybe he was a fake… 😕 It should have said on the auction tho that he’s a re-paint 😯

August 28, 2008 at 11:51 pm #730268Well it does say “It is an alternate painting of a WindStone young dragon statue”. Too bad the young dragon hasn’t come in silver yet.
August 29, 2008 at 12:34 am #730269Yeah I saw that guy… weird…
August 29, 2008 at 2:06 am #730270Why’d they leave the eyes painted over? That looks so wrong to me!
August 29, 2008 at 2:18 am #730271I was thinking the same thing

August 29, 2008 at 5:20 am #730274Wait–wasn’t there a thread earlier that showed a bootleg copy that looked like this? I remember something about an eBay seller who had fake Windstones that he’d made by first making a cast of a real Windstone with the eyes left in place. The resulting mold produced blanks that had solid plaster eyes.
Certainly this seller may have obtained the piece secondhand and in good faith. I don’t think this person is another bootlegger; for one thing, calling it a Windstone would be suicidal if they were producing fakes. Or someone may have repainted a real Windstone and frankly forgotten about protecting the eyes (whoops). I guess I’d rather it was a somewhat goofed-up repaint than a copy. :/
August 29, 2008 at 10:04 am #730275Either someone took the eyes out and replaced them or it’s a fake. Did you notice this line?
Quote:It is a replica of a WindStone young dragon statue, and the eyes are not the regular kind found in a Windstone.

That definitely sounds like a knock off of some kind.

August 29, 2008 at 12:52 pm #730278Yes, it is def a fake. If you look at the wings, the area under the wing points isn’t correct. There should be a hole under the third ‘section’ and there is not….
