I want to thank Kyrin for giving me the courage to repair my Windstones.
After chatting with her on the phone and telling her how I’m intimidated about fixing my Windstone, Idecided to try as soon as I let her go.
I knew I could sculpt in something that is semi hard or hard. But to actualy do it while it’s still soft was new to me and I just didn’t think I would be capable of it.Got the Apoxie sculpt out, found out it was dry but I could still get to soft stuff near the middle.
Slap it on and got to it….To my surprise I did it!
I can’t wait to go to my mom and start on my scratcher’s toe!I tried to take pictures of the repairs but they are not that good.
Unfortunitly I didn’t take before pictures. πI still have to paint them.
Do I have to put a primer before I paint? The young dragon had a big chuck missing.
Tell me what you guys think so far….
I know some of you will probable say well it’s just small pieces but for me it’s a good start since I’ve never done this before. π
The horn of this unicorn (not windstone) was broken off and plain looking so I made ridges in it.

It’s actualy fun!
But not always easy… π
I need to get more tools…rubber end…don’t have any of those and it would have made it easier. πAugust 5, 2008 at 3:16 am #726800Great job. Those look nice.
August 5, 2008 at 3:46 am #726801You did a great job! Answer to the question about painting, no, you don’t need to primer…though some Windstone pieces do have a basecoat in black before colors are applied.
Emerald and Peacock mostly.

I put just a little bit of apoxie sculpt then wet my finger and go over the apoxie until is almost even and take the excess of and go over again. It smoothes it well. But it was a little hard to do tight spots so I used the rubber end that was over my dentist tool to protect me to do those. Used it with water again same as my finger. That is why I need to get the tools with the rubber at the end. π
