Melody, we knew you weren’t going to do a July raffle with everything going on. Thanks for thinking about us tho. πŸ˜‰
As for the llama, couldn’t you trank it and blindfold like we do with some horses?

Llama’s can be incredibly stubborn. My brother’s boy scout leaders used to have some llamas that they would occasionally take along when the troop would go hiking/camping. I remember hearing a story about one of the males named Rudi deciding he’d had enough walking so he sat down on the trail and wouldn’t budge. No amount of pushing or pulling would work. They ended up having to leave one of the co-leaders with Rudi and go on with their hike. Eventually Rudi did get back up, but not for quite a long time.

We tried blindfolding her. That didn’t work. She was already lying down so it seemed that sedating her wouldn’t help the problem any!

I’m sorry you had to leave one of your pets behind. πŸ™

I’ve helped move a llama before. She was really nasty about it. We put a bucket over her head and used a butt rope and pushed/pulled her in the trailer. The bucket confused her enough and she couldn’t try to resist us and get the bucket off at the same time.
Llamas are wilely critters, aren’t they πŸ˜† And strong! I was surprised cause their necks look so weak. WRONG! She headbutted a guy that was trying to help before the bucket and just about knocked him out.
Sorry you had to leave it behind!

Dromedaries are just as stubborn! Aren’t they in the same families as llamas? I’m glad all of your other pets made it to Oregon safely! I’m sorry you had to leave her behind! Will you replace her with another pet?

I am trying to cut down on pets! I still have 6 llamas. It is as hard as quitting smoking! I loaded 42 animals on the trailer yesterday. That is plenty! No more. I feel bad for “Sage” being left behind, just because I am afraid she will miss her herd mates (she doesn’t give a hoot about me) but the family that wants to take her has another llama and an alpaca, so she should be fine.

That’s a shame Sage stayed behind and hopefully she will like her new home. Maybe the commemorative move piece should be a llama… πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜†

I’m curious too. And it’s about mid-August, so will the store be restocked soon? (I know, I’m being a bother. 😳 )
