Finaly got my flap cat trio.
π‘ But I’m not happy!
I paid on June 30th and she shipped them July 15th!
I must be cursed….
What is it with sellers and Windstone?
Can’t they be more accurate?
There is way more damaged then what was mentioned. Chips my eye! Not noticable…. ya right! π
πΏ More like missing toes and stuff.
See for yourself.
But I ask you this would you say it’s just chipped paint?
To you, how much would be acceptable as a price for all 3 of them concidering all the damage?
I need to get in contact with her.July 29, 2008 at 9:46 pm #496310July 29, 2008 at 9:58 pm #725737July 29, 2008 at 10:03 pm #725738Here the description she gave:
“This is a trio of cats. They are Windstone Editions Flap Cats and are inscribed Pena on the back. Dated 1988.
They ears on the white cats has chipped paint. I imagine it could be repaired witha little paint or marker, but I haven’t tried. The black cat has a chip off his left paw in the front but since it’s behind the other paw it’s not noticable. The prior owner added some black paint or marker over the chip and it is hard to see unless you’re looking for it. One of the white cats has a similiar repair to it’s paw.
Anyways, they still look very good and with a little tlc could look even better!

I’d say they’re worth $15-$20 bucks per cat tops in that condition. Maybe even less for that really bad one. That’s my opinion anyway. Seeing they were a little deceitful in the first place it’s generous.
Hey, if you need them fixed π they look easy enough to me.

I paid US $51.00 not including shipping at US $13 something.
If I was to send them to Kyrin to fix they would cost even more.
My point is she wasn’t totaly honnest about the damage. Regardless of how much I paid, it’s not right. I thought they would be easy to fix just by painting them (No resculpt involved) and they are for a gift for two different people.
I was expecting this package to arrive two weeks ago. π I emailed her several times about the insurance # in case they wouldn’t arrive. And she wouldn’t give it to me, if they didn’t arrive she would then look for the #. Turns out no insurance was purchased even if I paid her shipping with insurance. π‘July 29, 2008 at 10:34 pm #725742Yea, that’s a of a horse of a different color. Though $51 is a pretty decent price, they weren’t as described and certainly were misrepresented.
Personally, my advice *which of course you wouldn’t have to take, it’s just my opinion* Would be to try and get the amount back for them that it would cost you to have them fixed. I’d test the waters and ask for half your money back and see if she’ll bite. Unfortunately by the sounds of her morals though *not purchasing insurance even though you paid for it* theres a good chance she won’t even answer you. Did you use Paypal?
I filed a modest claim on the Emerald Lap I got damaged and asked for $73 dollars back of the $112 I paid and I got back $67 from the seller within 2 days. I agreed to the amount and closed the dispute and it all worked out pretty good. If they don’t reply to the dispute in a timley manner, Paypal will freeze their account and make things kind of difficult for them until they either reply to the dispute or close it by issuing a refund of some sort.

July 29, 2008 at 11:03 pm #725744It can’t be that much… they’re mostly flea bites and the paint is an easy match. It’s just those poor kitty paws and the wing chunk that require a little time. Just my opinion, I don’t really know what the rates go for repairs really. I just kind of make up this stuff as I go along π
At this point, you may as well see what you can get for a refund. Then I’d just take it from there. Don’t worry about repairs until you get some money back from that seller.

This is not the first time I got trouble after buying flap cats. πThe dispute you opened was it through paypal or eBay?

July 29, 2008 at 11:15 pm #725749Well, when I went to file through ebay it immediately sent me to Paypal since that’s how I paid for it.
