Do you have any good pictures? Without flash, preferably? The one at Astral Castle is a little too small/blurry. I just bought one off ebay, but…he looks funny in their picture. He’s either really dirty (which I don’t mind, I’m happy to clean him up – in fact, I enjoy doing that!) or has a lot of gold on him. Their light seems really yellow (either that or the blue fabric they have him on is leeching his blue away), too…so if anyone wants to stick theirs under a yellowish light so I can compare, that would be awesome. XD
Here’s their picture :
I can’t wait to see him in person, dirty or not. XD I love the coiled males!

I think it’s just bad lighting…
July 12, 2008 at 5:16 am #722398Thats a jade coiled in Emeralds siggy. Different color than the emerald. 🙂

Really? Looks emerald to me…huh.
I’m no help then, sorry! 😀
July 12, 2008 at 5:22 am #722400S’okay. XD I didn’t know either~
July 12, 2008 at 3:07 pm #722401Here is a picture of mine which is emerald colored, not the darker jade.
July 12, 2008 at 3:36 pm #722402The lighting on the photo is bad, though one cannot tell if it is emerald or the more rare ‘jade’! You might get a surprise. 🙂

My art: featherdust.comJuly 12, 2008 at 4:20 pm #722403Hmm. >.> Either one would please me. e.e I like them both~
July 12, 2008 at 4:30 pm #722404Good thing you don’t mind which one you get! 8) That makes it easy not to be disappointed.
Personally, on the excess gold… I think he looks dirty, on top of the yellow lighting. The places that mine had a dust glowed gold too, though faintly (wasn’t heavy dust). Hard to tell though.
I’d offer my pic, since it’s in bad yellow lighting w/ no flash, but he photographs jade (even with flash), even though he’s undeniably emerald in person. 😕
July 12, 2008 at 4:38 pm #722405I thought he might be dirty too, but the seller was all “beautiful condition!” and have excellent feedback, sooo…I was willing to risk it. I’m pretty good at cleaning them up now. XD But it’s so weird how bad lighting dramatically changes the color of things. =0 Like this peacock male –>
I wasn’t sure he was peacock until I saw his tail next to the picture of his minutely chipped toe! It could be a combination of the bad lighting and the pink towel ( if it’s really pink XD ), but who knows. e.e
Doing some comparison shots of a piece in varying conditions could be an interesting experiment. >.> *rubs chin* I’ll definitely take some better pictures of the coiled male when he gets here so we can compare the two.
July 14, 2008 at 4:39 am #722406The one in your picture looks EXTREMELY dusty! The “color” all over him is too brown (and too matte) to be gold paint.

July 14, 2008 at 5:48 am #722407Here’s mine:
It’s hard to tell whether yours is jade or emerald, but congrats on winning him either way. 😉
July 14, 2008 at 10:53 am #722408He’s so cute. e.e I can’t wait to see mine. Thanks GB!
July 14, 2008 at 1:39 pm #722409You’re welcome. I really love the sculpt with all the coils and movement in it. I just realized my guy has some gold flecks on his back. I’ll want to check that when I get home.
