Oy…..sometimes people make me SICK!!!!! SO…..Soot…the momcat..we’ve been feeding her for weeks, she was starving and nursing kittens…and we adopted one of her babies. Donovan told some neighborhood kids that they could adopt one of the other kittens..we were hoping to find them all homes. So the kids go ask their mom and come back..with $5…which Donovan got into loads of trouble for trying to “sell” the kitten, but that’s beside the point…And I’m talking to the kids, saying bye to the kitty, etc etc…When a guy at the nearby apartments yells at me from his car, “HEY! THAT CAT’S MINE!” Now…I know better…as I’ve been caring for the momcat for a while now..and have seen her go repeatedly to the woods behind our house, where the kits came from. I fussed at Donovan for talking to this guy near the dumpster yesterday…Donovan was telling him about us having kittens. If these cats belonged to this guy, he would have asked then. Not to mention when I asked him what the momcat’s name was, he took a full minute going…uh..uh…before he could tell me it was Scruffy….yeaah….right. But, he’d yanked the kitten from me really fast when I got near the car…so I’m not gonna fight the guy over the kitten…So I try to reason calmly with him. I tell him we’ve been caring for the momcat for weeks now, and that the kitten was about to get a good home with these kids..and he says, “I dont care, it’s mine” at that point I’m realizing nothing is gonna change that guys mind..and I inform him that the momcat and other kitten havent been around today, but we’ve adopted the last kitten and he cant have her back, because we’ve already had her checked by a vet and gotten her eating regular cat food. And without knowing which one we adopted…he goes, “WELL HELL, that one is my girlfriends FAVORITE” Idiotic jerk. I told him it was pretty cold of him to yank a kitten out from under a bunch of hopeful kids like that..then asked him why his cat was in such horrible shape…so thin we could feel her bones over her entire body..and he says, “She’s just like that, always has been” …and told him I had to go apologize for him taking the kitten from a bunch of hopeful kids, goodnight…then turned my back on him. I dare him to try come take Reese from us…the jerk. He’s probably wanting to sell them off to the petstore up the street, where they’ll give you $5 bucks a kitten and resell them for $20…I’m SO TICKED OFF!!!!!!!!! Not to mention the poor kids…the little girls were in tears….and the older brother told me his girlfriend knows them and they dont have a cat…all I could do was apologize and tell them if they saw the other kit, let me know.

July 11, 2008 at 10:28 pm #722027I’m sorry, purplecat. I can only imagine how the kids looked. Some people are just rude and inconsiderate. π₯
July 11, 2008 at 11:07 pm #722028That rude, but also really weird, don’t you think?

yeah, I really found it weird myself…because I’ve been feeding the momcat for a long time now…and when we started she was literally nothing but bones. The only motive I could think of was the petshop down the street being a motive….because the guys story had holes all through it… π
July 11, 2008 at 11:15 pm #722031Well….my suggestion….keep an eye on the Pet Store and see if the kitten shows up there. I wonder if you could get kitty back if you told them this man stole it. He probably needed money for drugs or booze…at least that’s what it sounds like to me. π
July 11, 2008 at 11:17 pm #722032yeah…the worst part for me was the guys rudeness…he really broke the little girl’s heart… I wouldnt have minded a bit if I thought the cats actually belonged to this man…but I know better…and the whole thing was just so STUPID! π
July 11, 2008 at 11:24 pm #722033unfortunatly there are worse motives i could think of as to why he did that but im keeping them to myself…i just hope you get the kitten back somehow..

July 12, 2008 at 1:02 am #722038Ok…so I was really mad, and I had some negative fury energy to burn. Donovan felt absolutely AWFUL over the kitten incident…so I took us both rollerblading. Both of us stink at it…but he wanted to go soooo bad. So we went. I actually didnt fall this time, but Donovan fell enough for the both of us. He only fell on his butt though, and he’s fine, he didnt fall too hard. I’m actually getting better, and made a few successful turns and even stopped a couple times without waving my arms like a bizarre rolling bird. Donovan got discouraged after falling hard a few times…so I taught him one of my all time favorite quotes. I asked him, “Why do we fall?” he looked at me with a puzzled expression…and I said, “So we can learn to pick ourselves up.” It helped him, he kept trying for another good thirty minutes. Then we came home and munched some sherbert before I sent him off to bed. I feel better now. Still worried about the kitten, but better.
