I’ve been having a pretty cruddy vacation, for starters, but the beach house I’m staying in is a five minute walk from some stores. I went into a candle store, and right on the front shelves, i spot a good number of Windstone sculptures! There was a red fire male, and a whole set of the emerald peacock dragons! They also had numerous gargoyles and candle holders! I started talking to the guy, and he said he’s been dealing them for fifteen years. I’m going back tomorrow to buy one. There were so many, I had to come back and meditate on which one I’d buy!
(I’m leaning towards one of the gargoyles π )
It was definately a pick me up, and a surprise. I only wish I had more money on me…I really want that red fire male dragon π

July 8, 2008 at 9:57 pm #721214Cool! And awesome of you to support the dealers!
July 8, 2008 at 10:52 pm #721215definately…there are fewer and fewer of them now. I love how windstone is becoming more of an LP company…it means they can do more varieties of colors more often…but it’s also awesome to see all the gorgeous dragons on display in a shop…it’s really rare to get to see dragons you havent bought yet! π

July 8, 2008 at 11:36 pm #721217Do they have any retired ones?
July 9, 2008 at 12:10 am #721218I remember when I first saw them in stores… I was in love. They look so awesomely regal in person… π
July 9, 2008 at 12:50 am #721219I am like 45 min From Gatlinburg in the Smokey Mountains and there is a dealer that has every windstone under the sun alot of retire ones as well. I need to head up there this summer to see what they have.
July 9, 2008 at 12:55 am #721220I don’t have any dealers near me…One place in town carries Maya’s things, another carries a few candlelamps…but I have to go to Flagstaff (one store had one lap and two wizards), or Phoenix (whose stores also have tiny inventories) to get Windstones.
Albuquerque has a few great stores, though, so I get my store fix when the hubby and I go to visit his family. π
I wish we had a store here that at least had a few of the dragons/griffins/hoofers…I would totally buy from them, or at least ask them to order me things.

I’ve been to that shop! We went to Gatlinburg on a weekend trip and I drooled copiously over the peacock lap they had in the window! π π
July 9, 2008 at 3:55 am #721222Yeah, this one’s in Corolla, NC. Its actually a candle place, which I guess makes sense because of all the candle lamps and holders that Windstone produces π The guy is super nice there. I think I’ll get one of the gargoyles there, since I love them so much π

July 9, 2008 at 6:07 am #721223Lucky you, BlueDragon. Which piece will you buy?
July 10, 2008 at 12:33 am #721224I returned to the place today and I bought the hatching gargoyle egg with the eyes since he goes with my hatching Gargolingus π Now all I need to get is the egg with claws and my hatching gargoyle collection is complete π I was really tempted by that Red Fire Male dragon, but he was a little too big to fit into my suitcase π
*I’ll take pics of him later, I’m a little hesitant to take him out of his packaging before arriving back home.
