June 21, 2008 at 12:18 am #716401Yeah, but it’s his good side! I want to see it from the front so we can see how wall-eyed he is. XD
June 21, 2008 at 2:42 am #716402If someone doesn’t beat me to it 😛 I can try to get some photos this Sunday. He definitely is a little wall-eyed! The regular OW looks right at you, while this guy seems to be rolling his eye coyly: “Oh, there’s something very interesting on the wall over there, gosh, look at all of those legs . . . .” But he’s so pretty I guess I’ll let him get away with it. 😉

June 21, 2008 at 1:57 pm #716405Lol. XD I get that he probably wants to eat them (gag), but whose legs is he looking at? >.> What have you got on your wall, Barrdwing? XD
June 21, 2008 at 2:11 pm #716406Oh, I’m just being silly. 😛 You know how sometimes when you’re talking to a person, and all of a sudden their attention is fixed on something behind you and you have to turn and look? I was kidding that the dragon’s “wandering eye” expression was because he’d spotted something big and nasty creeping up the wall behind me. (We used to live in sun spider territory, and those things grew to six inches across, with the legs. They have big fangs, they can climb glass, and they run like freakin’ greased lightning. I didn’t handle them so well. ;))
LOL at the picture twindragonsmum found! 😆 😆 I like Neon’s artwork. I even bought her How to Draw Dragons book.
June 22, 2008 at 8:18 pm #716407Okay, I’ve taken some photos. It was harder to show the oddity of the eyes than I thought it would be. I ended up using my Peacock OW for comparison. Now let’s hope that I’ve sized the photos down enough! 😛
You can see how the Peacock is looking right at the camera, while the Goof-Up is looking over my right shoulder. That’s that “ugly bug on the wall behind you” expression I was talking about. 😉
This view shows the difference best. The Peacock is looking right at the camera again, slightly cross-eyed. The Goof-Up is definitely a little wall-eyed. I couldn’t get it to photograph, but the Goof’s eyes are definitely a lot thinner than the Peacock’s. They lack the clear glass cap that creates the illusion of a real eye. This makes them distort less, but it also causes the failure of the pupil to “look right at you” like the production eyes do.
This set was taken looking directly at them from the side. The eyes hardly look different at all here.Really, the Goof-Up eye differences are subtle, and they only become apparent when you walk around the dragon while looking at the eyes. I think it was a practical experiment even if it didn’t exactly work out as planned. And it resulted in some spare dragons to test out this nice paint job, so it’s all good in the end! 🙂
June 23, 2008 at 1:07 am #716408How weird. o.o I can’t decide which one I like better. XD
June 23, 2008 at 2:06 am #716409That makes the differences obvious!
I think I like the peacock, he’s looking at you and that’s one of the things I like about Windstones, they actually look at you, makes them seem more, I don’t know, alive?
June 23, 2008 at 4:30 am #716410The goof up seems to be looking a little bit cross-eye toward the sky. 😆 He’s looking up!
