She is pretty.
June 12, 2008 at 5:12 am #713186Yeah,I thought kirin too, but unfortunately she’s missing the scales. Wouldn’t that be a discovery to find a scaled deer!

June 12, 2008 at 8:13 am #713189I just logged on and saw this on yahoo and thought maybe I would post it here, you know, being the people we are. But then I thought, I bet someone already post this. Sure enough I was right! You can always rely on a fellow Windstonian to keep you up to the minute!!!! LOL 😆 This little guy is cute. The mythical stories have to come from somewhere. I believe alot of stories were real at some point and time even in this time.

June 12, 2008 at 12:52 pm #713193Neat!
We sometimes see whitetail deer around here when hunting that have a single spike antler (one that does not branch off into tines) but not in the center of the forehead. We call them unicorns too. 😆Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com
My art: featherdust.comJune 12, 2008 at 1:44 pm #713194Ack I missed this and double posted. Oh well, can’t have enough unicorns in the world. 😆
While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!
June 12, 2008 at 5:41 pm #713195He’s only one year old. I wonder if his single antler will continue to branch out like a regular antler as he grows.
I remember looking in an old book on unicorns and they showed a pic of a goat that had had one horn bud surgically removed, and the other moved to the center, so that only a single horn grew from its head. They would do this to goats purposely and show the goats off in circuses and such as “unicorns”. It was a long time ago.
June 12, 2008 at 5:59 pm #713196VERY KEWL.
I wonder if they can actual figure out how it happened and use that info to actually GET a unicorn???June 12, 2008 at 7:10 pm #713197It probably happened just like how they made the unicorn goats, but naturally. Deer was born with only one antler bud (or else both buds were fused), and the bud was centered just right on the head. At least, that’s the only way I can think of it happening. I wonder what would happen if the tried to implant a horn or antler bud on a horse, or if it would even work, since the bud would be from a totally different species. And they would probably need drugs to keep the horses body from destroying the foreign tissue in the first place.
