I have never owned an indoor cat before they have always been barn cats. But I have a malti-poo who gets very lonely when I am not at home and well after much thought and research I just bought a rag-doll kitten. I am very excited but not to sure what to expect with an indoor kitty. I am going tomorrow to buy her all her goodies and I pick her up from her breeder next sunday. I am excited and nervous all at the same time lol

😆

June 9, 2008 at 1:43 am #712105Rag doll is a breed of cat that has med length hair but doesnt shed as much as normal cats. They also have a very laid back disposition. The breeder told me they can be attacked and will not fight back or if u leave them outside they are so friendly they will go right up to strangers and be catnapped! I did alot of research trying to find a good breed to get along with my dog and I think this is the one.
Heres a pic of her ^.^

June 9, 2008 at 1:54 am #712107I think I will name her Anastasia and call her Anna for short

June 9, 2008 at 2:48 am #712109Getting a new kitty is always fun, congrats! and a very pretty kitty indeed!
My indoor cat is fat and lazy. He plays only when he feels like it. He spends most of the time sleeping on my shoes.
Indoor cats are quite the entertainers too. They like to stare out the windows at the birds and stalk them…it’s funny. My most wanted list: Peacock kitty wizard, carnelian mouse wizard, copper patina frog wizard, autumn leaf poads, pumpkin spice kitties
June 9, 2008 at 2:53 am #712110Love the name! I adopted a kitty from the SPCA last February. My recommendation is to give her LOTS of toys to play with. Even if it’s just wadded up pieces of paper.
When you’re not at home, keep the dog and kitty separated until they’ve gotten used to each other in the house. I was concerned when my adult cat played with the kitten because it looked like she playing rough with the kitten, but the kitten kept going back for more, so I let them be.
My cats have always been indoor only cats. They never had any interest in going outside. Mostly they just followed me around wanting to see what I was doing. Oh, and we all know how our pets like to follow us to the bathroom. I can usually get the dog to go looking for a toy instead sitting and staring at me, but this new kitty is so curious, she wants to look in the toilet bowl while I’m sitting on it. 🙄
