So… would anyone happen to know how much these little guys end up selling for on ebay? I’m watching the one that’s up now. And they aren’t up on the ebay value site thingy yet. 🙂
Anyone?
Thanks!May 12, 2008 at 9:53 pm #700507go into advanced search on ebay and on the side click on “find auctions by seller” then type in windstoneeditions and check the box “show completed items” and it will show you all the auctions. you’ll just have to look thru them a bit.
May 12, 2008 at 9:53 pm #700508The prototype baby ki-rins are in the database. Added them last night as a matter of fact! 😉
Here’s the Red Eyed ones (there won’t be any more of these). Here’s the Brown Eyed ones. They have been running roughly $300.
May 12, 2008 at 9:55 pm #700509or do it Peg’s way!!! 😆 😉
May 12, 2008 at 10:01 pm #700510I was working on my original reply at the same time you were working on yours, 2Huberts.
And joshmo4evr, they may not have turned up if you did a search for kirin. I’ve been going back and forth on if it should be spelled with the hypen or not. The PYO is spelled without it, and so are the baby’s in the ebay listings. 😕 I wish I could find an old Windstone Catalog to see how they were listed in it. I’ll do some more thinking and may end up changing it.
May 12, 2008 at 10:22 pm #700511on the little pamplet that came with my kirins, they are written out Ki-Rin. Is that what you mean’t?
May 12, 2008 at 10:25 pm #700512Yeah that’s what I mean. I think I might leave them with the hyphen. I just looked at the photo of the sketch that came with one of the babies that has already been auctioned and it’s spelled “Ki-rin”.
May 12, 2008 at 10:25 pm #700513Awesome… thanks so much. I always wondered about the spelling as well. I’ve seen it both ways. I like the brown-eyed ones better anyway. 🙂
2Huberts- That’s a good way of searching as well. I guess I figured that once they were over, they were gone. I’ve been on ebay for years and I’m still learning new things everyday!
Thanks again you two
May 12, 2008 at 10:32 pm #700514No problems. Have to love “consistent” spelling.
I like the brown eyed ones better myself. I’ve been the second highest bidder on the last two, and was fourth highest bidder on the first one. I’m the second highest bidder on the one up right now. I’m actually thinking of letting him go and really going after #5 since my husband said I could get one as a Mother’s Day/Birthday/Anniversary present and this June is our fifth anniversary.
I didn’t know about the advanced search for completed auctions until I took over the care and keeping of the database (before it was posted online). It’s very useful.

Lol, that’s nice of your husband. I wish I had one to buy me things ;). And it seems that #5 would be the perfect one to REALLY try and win since it’s going to be your 5th anniversary (congrats by the way). I would love to have one of these little guys. But I get the feeling that they will be too high for me to afford :(. It seems that “too expensive” is the problem with forum members getting the pieces that they want. But hey, it’s good for Windstone!
Maybe I’ll give it a try this time.. I’ve got nothing but money to lose. But I’ll stay away from #5 for you 🙂
May 12, 2008 at 10:40 pm #700516Can you please stay away from #6 too? 😳

Why? Is number 4 cursed? 🙄
May 12, 2008 at 10:45 pm #700518I’m actually a little surprised at how consistent the brown eyeds have been in price so far. I wonder if the trend will continue or if there will be a dip in some of the later numbers like I’ve notices on other special ebay pieces. Usually the middle numbers go for a little less.
Hubby’s in Iraq for a few more months (been there a year already – he’s in the army) so he’s not home to get ideas for presents, and doesn’t have much shopping options where he is. I showed him the first auction and he said I could go for one and gave me a spending limit, though he did say if I hadn’t gotten one by the middle numbers I could up the limit some. I don’t show him the auctions very often, but I had to with this one (and the test paint unicorn you can see the face of in my siggy), that’s the only reason I got the okay on getting him and one of the babies.
You don’t have to stay away from #5 on my account, but I’ll be figting a little harder and going a little higher for him.
May 12, 2008 at 10:49 pm #700519I noticed the test paint unicorns and pegasi on the database. I must have been visiting the moon to have missed those.. they’re beautiful!
Well I hope you get what you want. They really are cute.
And I hope your hubby stays safe out there.. it’s no fun to be in combat and away from home. I don’t know how some people can do it. But I give him kudos!
