Someone stole Shadow yesterday….at least I’m pretty sure. When Chris went to let him in for the night…he was gone, his collar laying on the ground near the side of the house….I drove for a long time in the dark, stopping people and asking if they’d seen him. We live in a congested area..and I was actually somewhat surprised to find so many people out and about, I asked nearly 20 people, all in the area around our house. Shadow is a BIG dog….he wouldnt go unnoticed, nor would he have stayed away all night either. chris thinks he disappeared around dinnertime. We believe him stolen because he had never pulled out of his collar unless he got it hung on something….his lead was untangled and fine….Also, the couple of times he had gotten off his lead, the big lazybutt came to the front door and waited to be let in. We were home all afternoon, with the front door open. I had to tell Donovan this morning….and he replied, “But he’s part of my FAMILY!!!” and started sobbing.
maybe we’ll get lucky and he’ll turn up…but after him being gone this long…I’m doubting. 🙁
That is awful. People can be so mean and stupid.
Meantime i would leave flyer’s with pictures at the Vet’s office as well and check with animal control just in case.
I hope he finds his way home anyway.OMG! How could someone do that! 😯 I hope you find him 🙁

Ohh I hope he turns up somewhere… 😕 Is there no place where you can repost him as being stolen?
Or post pics of him so that if anyone sees him they can let you know… 🙂Marzena
Let people know! Especially you local paper/news/police, etc. The same thing happened recently up here, and because the people got it known in the news, when someone tried to sell the dog, the people recognized, and the dog got returned to the owner!

I would put up flyers in the area vet’s offices, let the police and the shelters know, and put more flyers up in the convenience stores, food stores and gas stations; places you *know* people have to go to.

That’s terrible I hope he turns up. Was he microchipped? I think all animal shelters and vets check for one and if there is any doubt they will call the 800 no. and check for the owner’s name. If he was taken I hope he bites them. In the meantime, as was previously suggested, put up flyers everywhere and if you have a recent picture, or any picture, put it one the flyers.
