April 28, 2008 at 12:55 pm #693052I had a hard thinking of a memory that stuck out. I must have a horrible memory… 😕
April 28, 2008 at 9:47 pm #693053When my son was born is the memory that stands out for me. 😉
April 28, 2008 at 10:10 pm #693054Does anyone else have the best day also being the worst day of your life type story?? Just curious.
April 29, 2008 at 2:28 am #693055Well one of my fondest memories was finding this forum. It has been nice to be accepted for who I am because in real life, I haven’t been except for my closest friends and family. I have always been judged on my apperance espically in High school and lower grades.
Another memory I have is going on trips with my grandma (my mom’s mom). I had always been close to her so it was nice to go on a adventure with her. If I was able to go with just her I think it would of been that much more special (I also went with my mom and sisters). I love my mom and sisters, but I do know why I didn’t live with them for very long (Except for this one time I went to Ireland with my second to youngest sister). From a distance I get along with them more.
I think another memory I have is when my sisters and I went to India with my other grandmother (Dad’s mom). We meet some relatives there. They gave us money, food and shelter. They treated us very well and were very comforting people.
Hmm, there are probably more in my brain, but they are hiding.

I have a bad day story….well I have a couple of them.
When I was 2 years old, I asked my mom for some scrambled eggs. She cooked them and by the time she was done, I didn’t want them anymore. So she got mad at me and dumped them on my head after she just gave me a bath. haha
When I was five (I think that was the age) there was this boy who lived around the corner from me. I was barely learning how to ride a bike without training wheels. I was out playing in front of my house and he just came over to me and pushed me down.
When I was in 3rd grade and we were at a assembly. I was just minding my own business like all of these stories and that same boy turned around and punched me in the stomach. Come to find out later in life, his father use to beat him up.
When I was in 6th grade, I was walking home with my friend. There was one boy who liked to pick on me (different boy them from above) because I had larger front teeth then the rest of the kids. This boy was hiding around the corner behind a bush and he came and spit in my face. It was a big huge loogi (sp?-You know spit with mucous in it). It was so gross. My mom went and talked to the principal for that one, but they couldn’t do anything because it wasn’t on school grounds.
One good memory I have is when I was in kindergarten or first grade, my friend and I would chase around this boy. We would play kissing tag. 😆
April 29, 2008 at 2:45 am #693057I can relate to those grade-school horror stories, too ‘jade. I was overweight and had big front teeth, too. Kids are so cruel. *sigh*

Yes, kids can be so cruel. I think that is why I get a long with toddlers the best and why I want to adopt a toddler. They are young enough where you can teach them….hopefully the correct way. And hopefully they won’t be a mean little kid.
April 29, 2008 at 5:02 am #693059Good Memories:
The first time I realized that I was attractive. I was really not an attractive teenager. 🙄 Finally realized being constantly self conscious and putting myself down was half the problem 😆
First time my bf told me he loved me (we’ve been together 11 years as of Apr 9). And no, we’re in no hurry to get married. Why spend $20,000 on a one night party? I’m happier that we have a house, and will soon be moving into a bigger house.
Bad Memories:
Having both cats I grew up with pass away two weeks after I moved out of the house. I know it wasn’t my fault but still feel guilty.
Realizing I couldn’t hold a full time job in public without having severe panic attacks. Don’t worry, better now and I’m looking for a job outside my house now.
There’s probably much more to add on both sides but those are the ones that stick out.
April 29, 2008 at 7:17 am #693060I purposely forget the bad memories and have become pretty succesful at it. 😆 (Not that there was too much to practice on.) The one I still have is from a couple weeks ago when the driving “expert” flunked me on my motorcycle test. I should have expected it. They don’t like to see youngsters (as in, under 25-year-olds) take the big bike test on powerful, shiny, new machines. Now I have extra costs of 500.- because I refuse to wait to tune up my bike (you’re guaranteed to flunk if you show up on a bike that’s been customized in any way, which is ridiculous, because that should mean you take driving seriously and know what you’re doing), which means I’m going to rent a bike that fits their criteria… 👿
Good memories are too many to list. January 1 of this year, when I got together with a bunch of bikers that I’d only known online before. I’ve had great times with them since. Buying my bike, picking up my dog two years ago, and last summer’s travel… The list goes on and on.
May 16, 2008 at 3:42 am #693061Best Memories:
My wedding to Walter (current hubby). Yes, I was married before. I try to forget that one.
Graduating with my B.A. and then later graduating with my M.A. and being hooded onstage with my Master’s Hood.
Going to England by myself (with a group of students, most of whom I didn’t know). Specifically, lying in my room in the 800 year old castle, reading a book at 11:00 p.m. and having it still be light outside. The bus rides. The cobblestone streets. The coffin walk in the Lakes District. Seeing where Harry Potter flew his broom for the first time in the courtyard of the castle I stayed in.
Worst Memories:
Sitting alone by my dying father’s bedside at 5:00 am, watching him breathe, waiting for him to take the next breath, wishing he would wake up one more time before he died so I could tell him I love him and know he heard me. Saying it to him anyway, just in case.
Getting the phone call at work that my grandmother passed away suddenly after having seen her the day before, and she was just fine.
Lots of school ones… I don’t want to think about those anymore. Being married to my first husband… ditto.
