Website: courtneymooreauthor.comOk, i can’t find the article about “how to”, but i would like to try it on a wolf. Now, i know that you apply it on (brush it on right??), then using a sponge you wipe off the top layer where you dont want the ink to be. Will the sponge wipe off the acrylic paint? And what type of sponge is ok to use? I will probally get the stuff at hobby lobby or something.

Website: courtneymooreauthor.comI use dry or wet paper towels as well… both work for me! 😉 And I do small areas… so that nothing has time to think about trying to dry!
Ok, cool. So, i just use a brush to apply it on right?? And it wont take off the paint?

yup…just use a brush
and usually it doesn’t effect the paint…as long as it has dried long enough…and you don’t rub the paint..
What kind of ink are you using? I’ve never tried ink, so I don’t know how it works.
I use a moist paper towel and/or a moist natural sea sponge. 🙂

My art: featherdust.comDragonmedley gave me great advice. Seal the sculpt first with a couple layers of sealant. That way, if you mess up, you don’t end up taking all the paint off. And my first try at antiquing was a mess. The sponges just got into the grooves and took all the antiquing off so I switched to paper towels. Worked much better. And try one thin layer first, you can always add more but if it’s too heavy, you might have problems getting it all off before it dries.

Ok, maybe it’s not ink. I haven’t tried anything yet. Just getting advice on what to get and stuff. Sooo, what is it called then that I need to buy for the antiqueing?– name brand

I have read that some people like the antiqeing medium by DecoArt. I can’t find it here so hopefully you have better luck!!! 😉
I use DecoArt “Staining and Antiquing Medium” (Some of their packaging says ‘staining and antiquing gel’).
It is a clear gel that you mix with some paint of the color you want the antique to be. Follow the directions on the bottle and you’ll be golden! I found out the hard way I need to seal the paint before antiquing, otherwise, the paint would come off…
