This guy sat on my desk for at least a month before I finally finished him last Saturday. His colors are based on a drawing of a Bird of Paradise flower that I found. (Also explains the name – Elysion, from Elysum, Greek paradise or heaven).
The pictures are awful. Sorry about that. But last Sunday was rainy, it’s crack of dawn when I leave for work and dusk when I get back, so this is about the best I could do. He’s not really that bright and yellow, but rather orangey. Maybe his new owner will like him enough to take better pictures of him. Her other photos are always lovely.

Beautiful! 🙂 I like the colors you combined and the way you brought them back into play along the haunch. The markings on the large wingfeathers are particularly fine. And the layering of colors on the neck feathers is wonderful. Great work!
That is a beautiful griffin! She does look just like a bird of paradise. The color variations on each wing are gorgeous! I also like how you made the top half bright, and the haunches a darker color. Very nice!
