Lots of things can reproduce without having genders! However Melody has said Poads™ are unique in the way that more come about. Perhaps she is the creator of them in more ways than one!

For now just be content that all Poads™ are female, there are mysteries in this universe that no one has yet solved, and hopefully all will be revealed someday in her graphic novel!
