She got stuck in my office last night for the whole night. I opened the door this morning to go in and she goes zooming out. She (thank the powers that be) did not break any Windstones, but she did break a rabbit gargoyle I’d been working on for years – and it’s irreparable now, so I tossed it. She knocked down my bird box collection (they did not break) and all my kaiyodo figures (again, no breakage), and my Alice in Wonderland griffin (whew! not broken). I don’t smell any pee, so she must have held it. The piles of clothing that I’m selling on ebay don’t look laid on, so she must have slept on my chair or the floor. What a traumatic night for her!
It’s funny, the first thing my husband asked this morning was, “Did she break any Windstones?”
Merlin was acting really weird last night as we were going to sleep. He kept merfing and trilling. We tried to call him to come to bed, but he wouldn’t come. We could just hear him carrying on in the other room (probably by the office door). Next time, we go see what the problem is. lol 😆 Goofy cats.

March 14, 2008 at 7:05 pm #679486Good grief! Close call, hu? Glad everthing… well almost everything… survived the night.
March 14, 2008 at 7:29 pm #679487March 14, 2008 at 10:38 pm #679488Yeah. I’m glad she didn’t break any Windstones and/or pee on the Ebay clothing I’m selling. That would be hard to explain… and mean some serious washing machine work for me. 😀
I feel bad though. I wonder if she thinks she was punished. I used to kennel her when she was little and her behavior got out of control. She used to push stuff off shelves; first she made sure I was watching, then PUSH. It was always the most expensive things I had too. And she’d never do it when I was gone: only if I was home and could see her. She would do it at the saddest part of movies, or the most interesting part of a show, so I’d have to get up and stop her and miss the part. So I’d kennel her to keep her from breaking stuff. I wonder if she has memories of that and if she feels like she got a time out for something. Before that she was really good and sweet. She was following me around, so I’m sure she followed me in there and got stuck.
March 14, 2008 at 11:30 pm #679489I’m sure she is fine. She might not even remember it now

Whenever the dogs behaved even slightly differently, we always check. You never know!

http://dragcave.ath.cx/user/36064March 15, 2008 at 1:09 am #679492My cat walks around at the crack of dawn just meowing at the top of his lungs for food. We don’t even feed him in the mornings…he eats at night. He’ll jump right on your chest while you are sleeping, waking you up and staring at you while his whiskers tickle your face. 😆
My most wanted list: carnelian mouse wizard, copper patina frog wizard, autumn leaf poads, pumpkin spice kitties

I’m VERY familiar with that one too but my carts have food 24/7. I only give them dry food
http://dragcave.ath.cx/user/36064March 15, 2008 at 11:24 pm #679494Well, I’m glad she was alright, and most of the stuff made it through the night alright.
My poor Romeo snuck out the door when I left for work one night (I used to work 9:30pm to 5:30am, I’d have to leave at 8pm and I’d get home at 6:45 or 7) When I got home Romeo didn’t great me at the door. I just happened to open up the back door for some reason and Romeo came rushing in. Poor guy. Well, maybe one of the neighbors gave him a place to sleep through the night. I’m sure he howled through the night too. Poor guy hates being seperated from Danny.
The funny thing is they both have had bad experiences from sneaking out and they both still do it. I always have to check before I leave the building.
March 16, 2008 at 12:46 am #679495So last night, we were all sitting on the couch, watching TV: me, Merlin, and the hubby. Claire jumps up on me and walks in front of Merlin and stops and looks at him. Usually at this point there is either some hissing or growling and Claire jumps down, but she didn’t. She leaned over and licked his face. It was so sweet. It’s like she knew he had tried to get help for her. She settled down on the hubby’s lap, and we watched TV like that for a while. Wow! What a change. (Claire and Merlin hate each other, btw. Maybe they won’t now.)
