Knowing that you’re going to graduate in August

      Abject fear is…

the prospect of finding a job and not being completely sure what you’re going to do.

Agreed on both counts. Hang in there! The right job will come.

Um yeah totally….I have my Associate’s Degree and I’m about to have a Professional Certificate…

but there are no jobs here….and I just found out I could move one state over and do the same job I would here…and I wouldn’t have had to have an education to do it…

                Grrr…

Well, my degree is in Graphic design, so I’m not afraid of not being able to get a job, it’s just I’ve no experience trying to interview for such a position.

Although my instructors are trying to groom us for it.

mine is Interior Design…and I’ve taken a few Graphic Design classes…

and honestly I’ve found them to be a big joke…I could already do everything they taught…and didn’t see the point in the classes…

I’m a teacher, and when I was a senior the education college offered mock interviews. I never did it, but it’s a great idea to practice. They interview you and give you tips and encouragement, so your first time isn’t for “real”.
                      Maybe your college offers them?

Actually, I’m learning quite a bit, and I’m also flexing muscles I probably would otherwise not have used if I hadn’t taken the classes. I’m learning to use my Adobe programs and am continuously challenged (And most places require that you have that bachelor’s to apply).

Never say that you can already do that, you can always learn something.

Not really, but one of my instructors is having us do cover letters and resumes for him to go over and help use with.

That’s a big help. πŸ™‚ My best advice for the interview is to be yourself. They want to hire you, not you pretending to be someone you’re not. I got my first teaching job because (among other things of course!) I asked if I could put a fish tank in my room. It seemed odd to me, but to them it showed that I was already visualizing myself in the position. So you never know. πŸ™‚

                            congrats!!

I only have about half of my degree finished. An associates in art. I still don’t know what I want to do yet. Right now my biggest joy is working with animals.

My most wanted list: Peacock kitty wizard, carnelian mouse wizard, copper patina frog wizard, autumn leaf poads, pumpkin spice kitties
