Okay, I’m posting these to get some feedback. What do you like, what can I do better? I didn’t actually mean for these to both end up matching…that was a fluke. I didn’t realize how hard the muse is to paint, she’s small and has soooo much detail. The dragon has just about every interference colour there is (I wanted to try them out), there is gold on his face and wings, violet on his side and tail, blue on the dark scales on his chest…and all those on his wings.

March 5, 2008 at 11:44 pm #674604Wow! I really like the dragon, the colours work well with him.
Quick question: where did you get your Golden paint? I went looking high and low for it in Barrie and Hamilton but haven’t had any luck. I got some Liquitex for now, but I’d love to find some interference paints too
March 6, 2008 at 12:33 am #674605Lovely! I love the silver on the Muse.
March 6, 2008 at 2:00 am #674606Maybe I would antique the dragon’s face for a bit more contrast. But with interference, sometimes it’s tough to judge by pictures.
And yes, they match! What a hoot 😀

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmMarch 6, 2008 at 5:47 am #674607The shading and outlining on the dragon’s wings is really nice; I’d try antiquing his scales to give them a little more detail, but that’s just me. I love how you had fun with the Muse: her silver accents, the colored dots you put on her skin, the gold arc of scales on her right side are lots of fun, and I like the metallic technique you used on her feathers. And her little purple feet are adorable. She’s a neat piece. 🙂
March 6, 2008 at 7:01 am #674608The Muse is very pretty. I like silver accents (instead of gold), though in this case it might clash a bit with the warm colors you used on the rest of the piece.
The dragon looks good, and, like Barrdwing said, would look even better fleshed out with some antiquing. 😉March 6, 2008 at 8:39 pm #674609Very pretty!
March 6, 2008 at 9:20 pm #674610oh that is a PRETTY dragon and muse!
March 6, 2008 at 9:37 pm #674611Thanks guys. Will the antiquing cover up the gold interference that is in the crevices of the wings now?
Arya, I get my paints from Curry’s. They carry just about everything you need, except for antiquing gel. I had to ask someone to get me some since even the Michael’s by me doesn’t.
March 6, 2008 at 9:57 pm #674612Thank you very much 🙂

I work very close to Curry’s… but I figure I shouldn’t go in there: I’ll bankrupt myself!
