You guys were there.
I dont make public a whole lot of my personal problems. Its not easy to talk about on here (even though this is where I would get alot of my support) because explaining acronyms, etc, would extend my probs even more… unless Mimi was here.. then she could do it for me. 🙂 To make a long story short, life is pretty rough right now. I am getting a bad NCOER which will leave me stuck as an E-6 for the rest of my career. Its not admirable to retire w/20 years as an E-6. My job did not allow me to raise my son properly (read: at all) so I asked for a chapter from the Army. Instead, they moved me from my position and gave me a relief for cause rating. I am also stressing over having to possibly buy my mom a plane ticket from here to Hawaii. I have to ship both dogs, a cat, and a rabbit. My husband of one month is off in Alabama and I may not see him for years. I am trying to save money for a move to Hawaii and because of this, I cant buy the trinkets that make me happy. I have not been on the forums much because of stress and wanting to spend more time w/my son. (Plus its not fun, as you all can relate, to see the pretties you want most go to others:) I was just feeling horribly pitiful for myself today and even mentioned to GB that I probably would not be around much anymore. Well today I got a package in the mail. It was a gift and card from all of you and it boosted my spirits and let me know that even though things are rough, there are people who care. I want to thank you guys for the card and the pink poad. She is lovely and I am def going to treasure her. I hope this color comes out in batches cuz everyone (including DM) should have a poad this pretty. Thank you guys so much for caring. The card is beautiful. I dont know who is responsible for it (besides the “poad ode” lol tnx Twins 😉 ), but it is lovely and so very thoughtful. If I have seemed cynical lately, its because this NCOER will affect the rest of my life, and that is not something I can just get past. Right now, I have requested a Commanders Inquiry, so the situation is not over, but I still feel like the little enlisted guy getting rolled over by a bunch of officers. Well… I think this may be my longest post ever. Thank you guys, so much. You are all a treasure… like one big, dysfunctional/possibly normal family. I love you all.
LOL reading the card… Pegasai said “Hooah!” LOL

March 3, 2008 at 1:52 pm #673881Sorry things aren’t going well… and more than a little embarrassed that my silly verse provoked such a neat response from everyone 😳 But I’m glad it helped you feel better and (if you have time, camera) I’d love to see your Pink Poad 😀 Feel better soon please. I miss you! Take care of you and your family first and know we are here to help if you need us!

March 3, 2008 at 2:10 pm #673883*hugs*! Hang in there. 🙂
March 3, 2008 at 2:15 pm #673884-hugs- The Army sucks sometimes. I did my 5 years active duty required by my MOS when I signed up, then I was outta there. I understand that they get to tell you where we have to go and what we have to do, but at the end of it all I’d never felt so degraded in my LIFE.
I hope it all works out for you.
March 3, 2008 at 2:21 pm #673885Thanks all. I will def take pics when I get home. 🙂
March 3, 2008 at 3:01 pm #673886I know you had talked about a career change a while back…perhaps with your current situation it would be a help. I dont know if you can just quit the army, or what’s involved there, but I do know that the need to be with your son and husband are much larger than your job. It sounds to me as if you’re suffering an awful lot for the army, perhaps another job would be a good thing. Not trying to be pushy, just wishing you didnt have to go through this. 🙂
March 3, 2008 at 3:12 pm #673887The thing is is that I already have almost 14 years in the Army. 6 more years and I will have a retirement check. If I quit now, it will be like wasting the last 14 years. I would have done it for my son, but when they offered me an alternative, I took it. I didnt know that they were gonna screw me in the bargain. I would have taken the $40,000 separation pay and quit for sure if I had known then what I know now. Now I am so close to leaving this place that it doesnt really matter anymore. Not getting promoted is still a factor. The promotion list comes out in March. If I made the llist this time, they can take their NCOER and shove it. It would not matter anymore. If there is any justice in the world, I will be on that list. 😆
March 3, 2008 at 3:16 pm #673888Oh man, that really sucks. 🙁 Let us know what happens with the list, and hang in there.
