Hi all. I’m trying to decide to buy an electronic pet door. I want my dogs to have their freedom (and quit shi**ing in my house) but I don’t want my cats out. Now I know there is a chance that one of my sneeky cats would try to slip out with the dog but I’m hoping they wont. So I have found the Staywell electronic pet door that unlocks with the sensor key and the dog can push the flap and it says it is very good at keeping other animals in or out. The other is the Power pet door that automatically opens for your animal when it senses the sensor key. I did read on this door that it might not be as good for keeping other animals in or out. So I would like to know if any of you have these doors, had these doors, know about these doors to help me with my decision. Thanks!

Sorry, can’t help. I only have two cats. And one’s so chicken he won’t even go outside if I pick him up and plop him on the ground. He just looks around and runs back inside.

I wish I could help, but this is the first time I have ever heard of an electric pet door. Cats can be sneaky!

I just have the flap pet door, not an electric one. I can’t help 🙁

I have seen them before. The tag goes on your pets collar and the door senses it’s proximity and opens. Just make sure that there is a sensor on it that detects an object in the door and won’t close on it. Kinda like on garage door openers, don’t want the door coming down on your pet if he/she is just standing in the middle.

Wow, a new way to break into the house!

“here kitty kitty kitty, I got a treat for you” … *door opens*
