Can’t wait to see him finished. πŸ™‚ How do you blend colors so well?

Phoenix, actually YES! I had this whole intricate scheme for him and it’s not going at all as I planned. They are much harder to paint then I thought they would be. So far, I’ve just kind of been hoping he turns out close to what I originally intended.

Thanks tf! I know it’s been a while since I really buckled down and painted something. The trick is FINISHING IT! I have so many PYOs half done it’s ridiculous!

Tintaglia, I use the wet blend technique that is described in the PYO tutorial. That and a combination of thin paint in MANY MANY layers. It takes a while to build it up. My first 1 or 2 coats are almost transparent, but it builds up gradually. I find using thinned paint makes a really smooth finish in the scales and no streaking whatsoever for an almost airbrushed finish. It works great especially on the KiRin scales.

Very nice! The blending you have done so far looks great. Gives me an idea of how to approach a new idea I have. I just need to get a hold of a couple more Keepers! I can’t wait to see it finished.
