Sapphire Sunset Dragon – up for grabs! :)

It’s been ages since I did a PYO and I missed the challenge so I recently bought myself a dragon to try since I haven’t done one yet (and this was just before the Keepers came out, drat! LOL) and wanted to try something new ^_^

I call this one Sapphire Sunset because he is INTENSE sapphire blue, in ways that the camera just doesn’t want to fully capture! I tried to tweak these pics a little in Photoshop to make them true to life and less washed out (Note to self, need professional lighting someday :X) so I present for your viewing pleasure:

I like sunsets and I think the wings really capture the warm ruddy glow ^_^

And just to show the top part of his wings more accurately, since they are somewhat in shadow when he is standing up, here’s sunlight to help me out:

Some more details: He is delicately antiqued to help outline his scales and give him depth. The blues of his scales are lighter and darker in some places, not uniform blue. The gold scales on him go from pale gold to a rich gold, using the finest Golden acrylics of course 😉 He was then sprayed repeatedly with a clear gloss spray to enchance the colours and protect him from wear ^_^ He has his bottom felt on and it is signed by me! I am going to make him his papers next, to prove he was painted by me ^_^

Does anyone else find that curling tail to be a pain in the tail to paint?? LOL *mockgrumbles* Complicated body parts…

As I mentioned in the title of this post, this fellow is for sale and if I don’t find someone here to give him a home (I like offering my critters to you guys first ^_^) then I will try my luck on Ebay! So please make me an offer, keeping in mind that when I sell him on Ebay, I will probably make the starting bid around $100 because it reflects how many hours I put into him, the materials, etc 😀
