My cooling fan on my computer is on the fritz and it will be a couple days before the replacement shows up, so I won’t be online as much as usual.
However, if you need me, I will be turning the computer on and checking for messages at least twice a day. Once this stupid fan is fixed then I’ll be more easily reached.
Just wanted to let you guys know why I haven’t been on as much.

January 8, 2008 at 8:21 pm #654452Thanks for the post especially since I’m getting the Emperor from you. I get paid Thursday so please at lest e-mail me to make sure everytthing is OK with the first check.
ThanksJanuary 8, 2008 at 9:17 pm #654453You can go to best buy or any place like that and pick up a new cooling fan. They even have ones that light up pretty colors.
January 8, 2008 at 9:50 pm #654454If you don’t know much about working on computers I don’t recommend replacing the part yourself. I tried to add some more RAM to an old computer of mine and ended up frying the motherboard. Fortunately my brother is (or was) a bit of a computer geek and was able to pull my hard drive out so I could recover all my information. I’ll never make that mistake again.
Oh and I don’t recommend reformatting your computer by yourself unless you are absolutely sure that your reinstall disk has all the files it needs on it. I did that one time and the factory provided reinstall disk was missing the main “install.exe” file. 😕 Since it was for Windows 98 and Microsoft had moved on to XP I couldn’t get a replacement disk. My husband and I had to buy a new computer because of that one. 😳

Hope that it gets fixed soon!!!
January 8, 2008 at 11:59 pm #654456When I had an internal fan die, I opened the box and used a small desktop fan pointed at the interior to cool the innards. It’s not a final solution, but it’ll help when you do have the computer on and until you can get the internal fan replaced.
January 9, 2008 at 2:02 am #654457Mine is pretty easy to work on but then again it is freaking huge and has an easy open swing door on the side.
January 9, 2008 at 2:33 am #654458Worry not, this will be the third time this stupid fan has been replaced. POS!
Hubby has ordered the part online, it was $8 and that included shipping, it has to be a 70mm, and those are becoming phased out apparently, and I refuse to rebuild my whole computer for one little fan!
Anyway, it should be here by Thursday, which will be good, cause this is driving me nuts, not that I am all that sane to begin with.

January 9, 2008 at 7:07 am #654459I’m useless at tech fixes. I can usually figure out how to fix software problems but if it needs to be put together or repaired, it’s “Honey, need help…” I can’t even put together furniture from Ikea properly.
January 9, 2008 at 2:21 pm #654460Is the power unit in your computer able to handle the fan that is put in? Maybe thats the reason it keeps frying.
