Well since my husband (Dan the Dragon Slayer) busted my first pyo I decided to repaint him. I had to glue his head back on but I couldn’t find apoxie sculpt to fix the little pieces that I wasn’t able to glue back on. Here are some pics of the damage…..
Here he is after I glued his head back together…
Now here I’ve repainted him but he isn’t finished. I still have some detailing to finish and I need to get a clear coat on him so I can antique him but when I try to brush it on the paint gets messed up. I’m thinking its because he already had a clear coat on him and even though I put a couple base coats of him before repainting him it still rubs off. I need to go to the store and pick up some spray coat.
My husband has named him Crash. I suck at taking pictures so when he is done I’m going to take him outside and try and get some better pics. This indoor lighting is just horrible for picture taking.January 4, 2008 at 12:00 am #493832January 4, 2008 at 12:35 am #652085I bet the paint problem is due to the shiny top coat he had before. If you encounter that problem again, get some Krylon Matte Finish and spray a good coat of that on before you try to paint.
Nice fix tho, I think I like him better now!! Dan the Dragon Slayer…. π
January 4, 2008 at 12:39 am #652086Yeah I think I like him better now too. He has a light copper base coat with violet scales on his back that fade to blue. On his stomach and horns I painted pearl white. This is the first guy I used my airbrush on since I’m no good at blending colors with a brush. I think he turned out pretty good and I’m itching to get my hands on another dragon to play with.
