My mother passed away last May… I watched her basicly fall apart in the hospital for 2 months before she passed. It stunk. 🙁
New years day I get a call from my dad that HE is in the hospital from having a mild heart attack. 🙁
Today they did a heart cath and put a stint in and he goes home tomorrow. 🙂
I don’t think that I could go through that again, Thank GOODNESS that he is alright and going home tomorrow! 🙂I can breathe again…

going to the hospital is never any fun…he’s been better lately…
hopefully everything works out with your dad…
January 3, 2008 at 1:50 am #651726Hospitals are not fun at all, I do not care why you are going there… unless you work there… but that is a different story I guess.
Parents going in and out of them is NO fun either (that is what my mother did until that last time she went in) 🙁
I hope that all stays well with your dad!

January 3, 2008 at 3:01 am #651731Whew, that’s good news. Hopefully he’ll be good now for another few million miles, now that he’s had some shopwork done.
🙂 Trying to keep it light, but truly, I am glad he is okay and that you don’t have to go through the loss of your other parent so soon.

January 3, 2008 at 3:01 am #651732*hugs and chocolate* I’m glad your dad is doing better. I hope he gets out of the hospital as planned. Hang in there!
January 3, 2008 at 3:41 am #651733Good luck all the way around. When my mom went into the hospital for the last time in April I did not even have enough time to go visit her before I got the call that she had passed. I was going to go the day she paseed but my aunt said she needed her rest because of all the tests she had gone thru so I did not go, I’m actually glad I did not because she would have passed right in front of my eyes and I would NOT have been able to handle that in any way
January 3, 2008 at 3:57 am #651734Thank you all! Thanks for all the kind words!!! It means alot!!! I know I’ll be much better off after he is home. I do not live at home but he is suppost to call me once he is home.
With my mother, I watched her fall apart. There were days when she was okay and there were days when she wasn’t my mom, she was all loopy trying to get out of bed at the hospital when she couldn’t walk. (she had hardening of the auteries and most of them where blocked). Then the blood flow to her legs pretty much went away… 🙁 I saw too much, I watched as in days her right foot turned black, then finally they amputated her leg just below the knee. 🙁 On top of all that the apartment complex where she lived caught fire, her apartment and things within had smoke damage, she got really upset over that, 2 days before her birthday. 🙁 I went out to find her kitty, which I did. She was at the city pound, thank goodness. She is a black and white cat and I almost didn’t know it was her since she was covered in black sut. She was happy that I found her kitty.
Then 2 weeks after her 56th birthday she passed away. I am kinda glad that she did since I know that she is NO longer in pain. 🙁
I just cannot go through that again so soon… I know that my dad is a tough old fart (65 and he’d even say that!) but it is still very scary.
January 3, 2008 at 4:25 am #651735It’s VERY scary when we, the kids, have ot take care of our parents it never seems right. I had to go thru the same thing watching my mom so I know EXACLTY what you are going thru. I wish you the best
