Has anyone ever tried to take family photos of Guinea pigs??? They won’t sit still! Well… at least, the non-Windstones won’t π Luckily, they finally paused long enough for one shot.

December 27, 2007 at 3:48 am #650194π π Oh that’s cute!!!
December 27, 2007 at 4:46 am #650195I should probably mention that the two little girls in the back are Dante (the black one) and Virgil (the pinto). It was pretty funny, my stepdad saw them from away back in the kitchen and really thought there were three animals there. He about hit the ceiling. “You got another of those d@mn things?!” π

Do you like DMC? or you just randomly name them? and they look kinda freaked out by their new friend.

They do look weirded out, don’t they? π
I actually named them after the characters of Dante’s Inferno. In it Dante the poet travels through Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise in his quest for enlightenment, and the spirit of the poet Virgil guides him through Hell and Purgatory before handing him over to another, more angelic, spirit for his trip through Heaven. When I got Dante the Guinea pig that was what I was reading. I was also falsely informed that she was a “he” when I bought her. So to keep things fair Virgil got her masculine name, and now I have two gender-confused rodents.
…you can’t tell I’m a classic literature buff, huh? π
December 27, 2007 at 6:41 am #650199Good for you, Megani. The Inferno is a really neat piece of work.
Your dad is funny. πDecember 27, 2007 at 7:06 am #650200Absolutely adorable! I had Guinea Pigs growing up. We thought that we had 2 females, but one morning- viola! The names changed to Romeo and Juliet. Romeo however, killed the male baby but Silky (fits so well with literary name like Romeo and Juliet, no?! π I was a kid) was a female that grew up in the family.
They are kinda looking at that Guinea pig like, “dang, you be huge! Dont hurt us!”
The pig is one of the statues I got for my mom a while ago, but havent yet presented her with it. Shes gotten various Windstones from me for any occasion (obvious or not) I can think of, so Im spreading it out. Im thinking Easter or Mothers Day will be the Guinea Pig presentation. For New Yrs., she’ll get the Bird Winged Small Birman Flapper. We’ve always had Siamese and she had the large and small bird wing of those flaps, but the Birman passes for them enough too π
Glad you finally got your family photo!!
December 27, 2007 at 4:24 pm #650201I’m sure your mom will like the Guinea sculpt, PT π It really is cute, isn’t it? Like a little loaf of nut bread or something… dang heavy, though!

Yea! When it arrived, as with most Windstones, I thought it would have been smaller. It always amazes me how much bigger they are in person. And yes, the pig is way heavy duty! That aint no solid fluff! Im gonna give it to her for Mothers Day. And she is going to get the Small Bird Winged Birman Flap Cat for New Years.
She absolutely LOVED the PYO Cardinal Griffin I did for her for XMas. She was in awe and I must say, since I dont think I can paint, especially compared to you guys, I even thought it was darn good! More griffins in my future. Im working on one right now for ebay that is named Patriot. Hope he works out the way I want. Almost done.
Tangent- sorry π³
