I bought this thinking it was just a bit dusty but otherwise perfect. Later, though, I noticed a tiny bit of blue that just looked wrong. It was more like cheap felt-tip-pen blue, instead of high quality acrylic paint blue. Dammit.
Closer inspection shows that a 5/16″ chip was knocked off the upper wing edge and glued back almost where it had come from, with the resulting gap amateurishly touched up with colored ink. There is also a smaller patch of uncolored stone at the other end of the chip where a bit was presumably lost (see detail photos below).
I feel sure that someone with a paintbrush and actual paint could make this look great, or the chip could be knocked out and rebuilt.
This is an early Spectral, without a hang-tag (the hang tags were introduced shortly afterwards).
It doesn’t have its original box, but I pack superbly and ship via insured UPS.
I would rather trade or barter this to someone here than put it up for sale on our catalog. I paid $130.00 for it, thinking I was getting a great bargain. I’m open to suggestions as to what it might be worth in whatever you have.
Thanks.
